@Tum Tum The more air you let out the easier you sink. When there is little air in your lungs, the water will stop pressuring the air out of your body. That is why it is easier to sink. Do try when you are swimming. You will notice the difference. Make sure to calm your heart beat. This is the key to stay in water longer.

Cosmic Five You’re talking about sirens. Sirens in general are more “evil” than mermaids. They use their voices to lure sailors to their death. Usually making them crash their ships.

For me this looks like a Dream, I've been a waterpolo/swimmer for over 7 years and I started when ik was 9 and I love being underwater. And the feeling of being weightless.
