I bought one for a project some years ago, not really knowing much about it, but really liking the feel and playability. As I get more experienced and have played a number of other basses, I've got to say I was super lucky to have found this model. It is very versatile and simple at the same time. What a great combo! Imagine!

I've owned one of these for awhile and I love it. It's not everyone's style, but I haven't gotten a bad tone out of it and it plays great. The 5-way switch is all I need on the bass, it should cover whatever sound you need. I usually keep it on two coils, but one coil is great for slap tones and the full pickup is great if you need a nice and thick sound. It's nothing too special, but it sounds like what a bass should sound like.

I absolutely love it great sound, great feel, great look and it's simple which I love. Not to mention it's under £400! I'm surprised to see alot of people here who don't like it but, there you go, everyone's different. I personally think this is a fantastic bass on many levels showing that your really not just paying for the name (although having the name too isn't a bad thing ;) ) .

Mine plays nicely but I didn't like the 5 position switch. I wired the triplebucker in series and replaced the switch with a tone control. Much better.

Seems good, especially for the price although nothing too radical tone wise. Still I'm never sure whether people actually look to classic manufacturers like Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker etc for modern anything.

It is actually. When Leo Fender sold Fender, he joined Musicman and made the stingray. This is the competition.

+Rick Nombe No you won't , it's a useable tone in some situations. Fender P-bass with flatwounds and the treble rolled down sounds good. This bass just comes factory standard with cheap Stainless Steel strings that make it sound like a turd, which can be changed obviously. But feel free to get totally upset.

I bought that bass and it had terrible buzz and the pickups stopped working so I brought it back, wouldnt recommend the modern one cause it's bad but the better quality ones are pretty good

+Tom Cass it was the only one in stock and even if there was another one I was not interested after my first bad experience tbh and even when the pick ups did work the nut wasn't holding the string right and I got horrible buzz.
