Do you seal it ? How do you afford the metal mesh? It’s soooo expensive
@ogfoundation8 сағат бұрын
@@unconventionalme8048 I've sealed some w/ a concrete sealer, but it makes it hard/ impossible to bond w/ later, so best to only seal when sure no further bonds are necessary. It holds up pretty well without any sealant as far as waterproofing

What are you doing to bond each coat of cement to the next? Latex cement?
@ogfoundation23 күн бұрын
@@athenry water is all that's necessary for Portland cement to bond to the previous coat. Whether in the mix so it's wet & sticky, or by pre-watering the surface. Also, when doing several layers in a couple days, the uncured cement is easier to bond w/ than fully cured.

@@athenry also, my method of application (by hand) leaves a rougher surface than using masonry tools, which helps additional layers to bond as well

@@ogfoundation Ok, thanks! Been watching the progress on your channel, fascinating. I am planning on building my house using ferrocement so i'm soaking up all the info I can. :)
