Just a short video going over a few things I added to the camper. Hoping to get out to the woods in the next week or 2. I appreciate everyone who has ordered my diesel heater port attachment.

That mount is awesome. Are you going to sell it?? I’m picking up my lone peak next week! So excited. I was order number 1028

Looks like dirtbox makes and sells one, so I'll be pointing people in the direction of them for purchasing something similar

Thank you for another great video. I won’t be getting my Lone Peak until July now, so have been living through your videos. I also live in WA so am very excited to see your camping videos. 👍👍

Definitely worth the wait, and the few issues the early campers have should be dialed in by the time you get yours! Hope to see ya around!

Thanks for making these videos. I'm deep in research on purchasing a camper and the Lone Peak is in the final 2 or 3. This stuff really helps in making a decision. Dirtbox Overland sells a 90 degree swing out mount like that in the US. Might be a good comparison to look at if you're going to sell the mounts. Super interested in the maxtrax mounts too. One of the cons of the Lone Peak for me is no factory locations for mounting things to the inside or outside of the doors. Where do you think would be a good location to mount a 5 or 10lb propane tank in or on the Lone Peak?

I've got both a 5lb and a 10lb tank I make mounts for. I usually mount it to my swingout, not really any good locations to mount one onto the camper itself. Good to know dirtbox makes some now, I'll link everyone to theirs, as I'm not super interested in making them lol. I sell them for the same price they do, but not coated.

Love your firepit which I viewed on a mother video. Do you make the firepit to sell?

Man I love all these update! Can you attach a link for that thermostat please. Also, I’m building my bed cabinet now and can you measure the mounting puck height for me. Top of bed to the bottom of the puck please.

Thermostat is the controller for my diesel heater. I tell everyone to look for a diesel heater with that specific controller. It's the best one available (I have 2 of them that have never given me issues) and I extended the controller wires so they can be inside my tent with me when in use. For the Puck measurement, it will be different than the rest due to the extra seal they used on my camper, but I'll get measurements today of what I can for you and get back!

Awesome thanks for the info. Any rough measurement will be sufficient. Im debating leaving the back of the cabinet open for clearance. Normally Id wait till I got the camper before building the cabinet, but the excitement is making me antsy and I want to do a camping trip up in WA right after the install is complete. THANKS AGAIN! @@upper_left_adventures

Great additions to your build! I'm #1127 and should be picking mine up right about now but after waiting for all this time I've decided to sell my '16 Canyon and put the camper on a '24 Tacoma so now Lone Peak is waiting on me... Should have the new truck in the next couple of weeks though. How much visibility of traffic do you have in the rear view mirror? My truck sits a lot at trailheads and I'm debating whether or not to delete the rear window. I know I can black it out but the glass is still more vulnerable to being broken than a solid panel would be. There's also the consideration of how much light it lets in when you're inside the camper. I'm not sure how claustrophobic it would be with everything closed up and only the front window providing light or outside visibility. Also, the Lone Peak comes with a third brake light, correct? Did you replace it mainly for camp lighting? It looks like you have a couple of different leds in your new design.

The rear window is about 95% useless for me, I can't see past all the stuff on my swingouts, so can't speak on that. It is nice being able to see out the back while camping inside, but you do have the windows in the tent itself that can be used. You can look into a rear view mirror camera if your new Tacoma doesn't have it factory, I most likely will be adding one to my Colorado, something like the wolfbox. I removed the 3rd brake light and designed what I'm using now, may be offering it up on my etsy shortly. It uses baja design rock lights, the 2 center ones are red for brake lights, two outers are amber and I use them for chase lights that are wired to my switch pros setup I have in the cab.

@@upper_left_adventures You read my mind. The Tacoma TRD Off-Road comes with a digital rearview camera if you get the premium package (which I'm not) but it's mounted up in the shark fin antenna and doubles as a bed camera, and therefore is completely useless in our application. I've been testing a Wolfbox G840S and intend to install it in my old Mazda MX-5. I connected it in my truck for a trip from Seattle to Portland and back and it works great, although the screen gets a bit washed out in bright sunlight. I would mount the camera above the third brake light on the Lone Peak. Here's the thing though, if you're installing a digital mirror and rear view camera, why not buy a three channel model and have a forward facing rock camera. In my GMC my biggest complaint is that the A pillar is a huge blind spot. I don't know how many times I've hit or come close to hitting obstacles just b/c I had no idea they were there. A front camera would help immensely. I bought a couple of cheap three channel cameras and tried to hack the interior camera but you need to buy a waterproof exterior camera and without cutting and splicing wires I couldn't get any to work. That being the case I've only found one (relatively affordable) system that comes purposely built for what I'm looking for and that's from a company called Acumen. www.arirobot.com/product/m4/ I can find very little about them other than the video review they link to in their product description but I'll probably take a chance and purchase it once I'm to that point in my build.

We have a 2017 Chevy Colorado and are considering this camper. How did you deal with the antenna that shoots up from the cab of the truck?
@upper_left_adventures
@upper_left_adventures 4 ай бұрын
I don't run an antenna, havnt in 3 years due to my old setup. Right above where the antenna is, there is a dust vent in the camper, so you should be fine with running a stubby antenna.
@debspieltube
@debspieltube 4 ай бұрын
@@upper_left_adventures Thanks for the quick response! I am trying to visualize the dust vent, is this a vent built into the cab over portion of the camper that a 3" stubby antenna can fit into? Wish I could find an image of this somewhere.
