Most artists, writers, communications majors and consultants are very progressive, and it is reflected in their work. Ironically, one of the reasons for this is because for decades conservatives said these majors were useless and made fun of non-STEM majors. The majors are useless. For every one that makes money, there are scores who do not. In the gaming industry, you're better off building up a portfolio away from school if you're an artist. Comms majors don't get good jobs almost ever and consultancy is a wide field that goes way beyond Sweet Baby Inc crap. You fail to realise that there was an organized long march through the institutions by the "left" in the 20th century. Particularly in entertainment and academia.

The switch has been out for 8 years plus Nintendo has the family/kids market on lock so of course they will have higher sales numbers. I think Sony puts out better games than Nintendo but the issue with Sony is they don’t put out enough games compared to Nintendo and that’s really it.

That last zelda game was disappointing, it was the laziest sequel ever made it felt more like dlc for breath of the wild then its own game. I would argue that 3rd party games are the heart and soul of the gaming industry and most of them can't run on the weak ass switch. This is a really good comment. I honestly don't know what Nintendo fans go through. I had a Switch for two days during Christmas vacation 2022. I played Animal Crossing, Super Mario, and Tecmo Bowl before I took it back to Target for a full refund. I got lucky because the lady behind the counter was slipping and she didn't give me any problems. I will probably buy another Switch when Nintendo releases the next one.

They should have had someone on that supports emulation so it wouldn’t be a Nintendo circle jerk. I also used to not emulate “current” platforms. I didn’t start emulating Switch until months after Totk and it’s awesome! I am able to playing Totk at 4K/60 with improved texture mods, etc. I personally buy all the games I emulate and have a “wall” of Switch games and still buy them to collect while my wife plays the actual Switch. I will even donate to Yuzu so they can win. But it’s not a morality thing to me, I would just prefer to play the games with decent looking gfx. And yes, Nintendo potentially losing a few million in sales from people that wouldn’t have bought the game anyway does not affect me.

Ngl, maybe I should be more involved in politics and social issues but they can be messy and uncivil which dissuades me from doing so, especially since discussions about pandering and agendas specifically are tiring to me, and there’s bigger issues with relations between people in general. Culture wars suck and I wish everything didn’t turn into politics and social issues on the internet, in the news, and among certain circles in the real world. It even gets to a point in which there’s a lot of tribalism going on and even getting people minding their own business or aren’t an extremist antagonized.

A lot of devs have come out and said how active the Switch userbase is in buying games. For the first time since the SNES 3rd parties want to be on a Nintendo platform because they're selling alongside the 1st party and not being overshadowed.

This slander of xbox users not buying games is outrageous. Would FF sell as well on xbox versus PlayStation? Of course not, not even as much as PC. But ff15 last recorded data mentioned selling over a million copies on xbox. But to pretend that square keeping games off xbox isnt going to give xbox users a sour taste is wild.

Final Fantasy 15 selling over just a million on xbox was bad especially this is Final Fantasy the biggest Japanese rpg. Xbox users stop buying games since the xbox one era majority of xbox one exclusives like Sunset overdrive,Quantum break,Killer Instinct,Crackdown 3,State of decay,Dead rising 3,Recore dont sell alot of copies since when xbox games has reached 8 to 10 million copies?Even Halo 5 dont reached 8 million.Thats like Days Gone number no wonder why alot of Japanese devs dont even try to put their games on xbox because the fanbase isn’t there

@sakuragi1062 I'm not sure if you're purposely trying to be disingenuous, but of course xbox first party don't sell crazy numbers... they have a subscription service with day 1 access.... 3rd party games not on gamepass still sell. FF15 on last gen selling over a million on the install base on xbox that was less than half of what ps4 was isn't terribly bad. I'm not saying it's great, but if ff16 or the remakes sold 1-2 million units on xbox then another 1-2 million on PC, I feel like that would have been a better play than to cut those platforms off and only launch on playstation Let's not forget, ever since Sega has been launching and adding series like yakuza and persona into GP and or onto xbox in general, both series have had the largest user base ever. Sega is even on record stating such. You can't deny that GP has helped Sega reach new heights with the series, BOTH in terms of users in general but also in terms of sales. There was an ex dev who worked on multiple games and directly with sweet baby said they are purposely working on making women ugly and pushing narratives to help trans people feel represented in games.
