Just a small point in response to a number of comments: "the gray man" MIGHT be Kindred's form before they split in two, but Kindred's teaser very specifically says that "once upon a time there was a pale man with dark hair" who split himself into so he would always have a friend. Pale and dark. White and black. Lamb and wolf. Which is not, I think, quite the same as "gray." I mean it could be, sure, but I don't think it's certain.

"ITS IN THE HOUSE" freaked me out the most

Since one of Fiddlesticks' kill lines is "Fiddle.... sticks...", I like to imagine that one of his early victims dejectedly yelled "fiddlesticks!" ("aw, shucks!") as they realized the mistake they made that led them to becoming Fiddle's prey... and then Fiddle copied that line and started screaming it as he was hunting victims... And now the few survivors that managed to escape as their comrades lay dead behind them tell tales of this demonic scarecrow, known by the only thing it ever said (like a Pokemon): Fiddlesticks. (Imagine having a scarecrow demon named FUCKFUCKFUCKOHSHITOHFUCKWHY, though)

Victim: "Fiddlesticks is just a fable. A story to scare children." Fiddlesticks: And I took that personally.

When I first heard "First of Ten" I was all like; "Please do not let there be nine more of these things."

Interesting to note is that when he kills the demons he recognises, be also names what they feed on (Evelynn: Agony, Nocturne: Nightmares, Tahm Kench: Addiction, Raum: Secrets) and when you select Fiddlesticks, he tells you what HE feeds on (Fear). Just thought it was a neat touch!

Jinx's trauma was already teased by Swain : "Faces fading in the flames, it was all her fault."

I'm sad they didn't take it even further with lines like "Look mommy, a scarecrow."

The most terrifying part is what sort of scenarios Fiddlesticks’ quotes imply. ‘It’s in the house!’ ‘Don’t open your eyes!’ ‘It won’t die!’ ‘Don’t leave me!’

Gonna keep it real with y'all - the most terrifying line there for me is "I'm coming to help. Where are you? I can't see you. I. Can't. See. You." Because that's a whole set of sentences I know Fiddle stole from his last victim to use to tempt out another victim, likely a parent looking for their child to tempt out... Their other child... Man thats a creepy scarecrow...

I just want too add that in some cultures or demonology, demons are able too say other demons names if they don't fear them. In this case, I'm thinking that fiddle sticks says their names because of this.

In regards to the "Grey Man" line: this refers, I believe, to the single entity that Lamb and Wolf used to be. The reason Fiddlesticks is saying that to them (in my opinion) fits under the assumption that it's only speaking to terrify those listening: the single being that the Kindred used to be split itself into two so that it would never be lonely again - what else would Lamb and Wolf fear the most other than not having each other for companionship again?

I like to think that he is using "For Demacia" against garen, because garen knows deep down, that what he does for Demacia is actually wrong and that might haunt him.

Kindred was a pale man that cut himself in two, and I think that's what terrifies kindred, to become one again, and be all alone. At least that's what I thought fiddlesticks was referring to. The gray man is loneliness, because everyone dies, everyone leaves, except the kindred Edit: "lamb tell me a story" that's literally what they are afraid of, of who they used to be, of being one without the other

5:57 Kindred says "he took an axe and split him self in two" "so he would never be alone" so perhaps kindred is afraid of being one again and afraid of being alone.

His comment to Kindred could be a reference to Lamb's "story" of a pale man who was very lonely because all things must meet him, so they shunned him. "Grey man" could be the man who split himself in two, creating the black and white spirits of Wolf and Lamb. They perhaps do not want to be reminded that they are one spirit, not two, because that only reminds them of their loneliness.

Anyone wanna talk about how the repeated voice lines have a much less strenuous and darker voice? It's like the demon is getting used to speaking, or like these are the only thoughts not stolen from his victims.

I believe the Vayne “give us a smile” line is Fiddle impersonating her parents, who I think were murdered by Eve if her voicelines are true

What you've missed, although minor, is that there is the "help me" from the trailer among his voicelines.

The "Everybody, Panic!" and "Lamb, tell me a story" lines are both just Fiddlesticks mimicking Jinx and Kindred, since those are Jinx and Kindred's voicelines in-game. It's not their fears.

Honestly, this is far and away the best character rework since Warwick for me. He's perfect on every level.... it's beautiful.

Fiddle doesn't just mimic what his victims are afraid of, he mimics what his victims say in general because he's learning to appear human to get closer to his prey.

What I adore about this rework is that the designers hit on what makes a true horror character. PRESENCE. Its paradoxically being everywhere at once even if nowhere to be found. At least....not until it’s too late. You can’t see Fiddle....but it? It sees you. And it wants you. You can die the easy way, or you can die the hard way. The choice really isn’t yours.

Fiddlesticks is so unsettling, we need to analyze its voice lines as much as it’s overall character design. Fiddlesticks is the near perfect character.

His voice reminds me of how the clone people speak in the film "Us".

I think you're leaning a bit too much on the fear thing with some of these. Wolf doesn't fear Lamb, Lamb doesn't fear wolf. Wolf and Lamb fear nothing more than loneliness. Since they can't actually die, and they are now two, that fear is only a distant memory. A lot of what Fiddlesticks does is parrot what he hears in attempts to learn how to speak and better mimic his prey. The voice line he speaks when he defeats kindred is nothing more than him parroting Wolf.

Ah no, Zoe has always had Fiddlesticks' key, even from the old fiddles, it was her teaser, they took the key from his splashart (kinda how they teased the first aatrox on Jax's lantern in the splashart) I think that's what they are referring to in the skin

The apart about Vayne smiling is hinting at when she came home as a child and found her family murdered by Evelynn and the smile Evelynn had. Also how she didn't smile much as a child and her mother used to ask her to "give us a smile".

I just love how now watching Arcane it makes a LOT of sense why for Jinx fiddlesticks says "all your fault" kinda shows they knew what they were doing

Given that Fiddlesticks typically speaks a real name when in reference to a demon (Nocturne, Evelyn, Raum (Swain), etc., I think it's more than likely that the "Grey Man" is who Kindred once was. When I listened to their story and it spoke of a creature who split itself in two so it wouldn't be lonely, the fact that Kindred is two characters who are black and white respectively, and that the colour gray is what you get when you mix the two colours together, there is enough of a breadcrumb trail to hint that Kindred used to be this "Grey Man."

The grey man is kindred as one. Kindred and wolf used to be a single person, the "grey man" who was very lonely so he split himself in two, so he would never be alone. Now when it comes to the "lamb tell me a story" I believe it's just him mimicking their death line, because when you kill kindred in-game wolf says "lamb tell me a story" if you notice fiddlesticks not only mimicks past traumas but the death voiceline of some of the champions, like he does with Soraka.

With the tell me a story I feel it's more of one fearing the loss of the other and not getting a response to the tell me a story that's why it's said when u kill lamb as wolf fears that it won't have lamb and there will be no story told.

The 'Grey man' is a common name for death in many areas of folklore. Just flat up death. In Kindred's lore he was so lonely, so afraid of being alone that he cut himself into two peices; Peaceful death(lamb) and Violent death(Wolf), so he would never be alone again. You can also see their connection if you look at their masks, with Each wearing the face of the other half( lamb with a wolf mask with a white mark, Wolf with a lamb mask with a black mark). Kindred more then everything else, fears being forced back alone once more, their shared past of being so feared of, so hated that they had no friends or kindness. So Fiddlesticks comments their shared past as the lonely depressed 'grey man' and wolf's line referencing their story as the grey man.

The "grey man" line I think refers to Kindred's legend, if you remember in the teaser they say that Kindred were once a lonely man that split himself in two to alway have a friend, the grey would also make sense, since Lamb is white and Wolf is black so putting them together would be gray, so what he's mocking here would be their fear of loneliness

I like that it merely addresses his fellow Demons. It knows they are like it, and are not afraid , but still tries to kill them anyway.

Maybe the key being stolen has, in some way kept Fiddlesticks from evolving. In some way restraining his power. It would fit with the aspect of twilight's notable past actions of keeping check on anything that could endanger the aspects.

Kindred have this quote where wolf wants to hear a hiatory and lamb tells one, is like their assignature quote it is in their trailer and when they die in game for any other character the trailers dialog starts.

I have to say, Riot did an incredible job with the voice acting on Fiddles. This is the first video where I've listened to the voice lines, and the reaction was quite visceral; hair standing on end, shivering, chills down my spine, even tearing up a little bit. The fact that he unabashedly targets the darkest parts of a champion's history, targeting the single frayed thread of who they are, and pulling it just so they unravel into a mass of tangled fear, is terrifying. He doesn't just induce paranoia, he takes what makes you strong and tears it down around you, until all that's left is your fear, and him.

I would love more of these videos I'm so happy to see more of you rambling your head off about cool league of legends stuff :)

Pretty sure it was confirmed by Riot that "first of ten" doesn't refer to other demons. I heard that from someone else though so not 100% sure it's true.

uhhm, I don't know if the 'looking into their hearts for their deepest fears' is all that correct. Fiddlesticks just spits out lines he's picked up before, worse than that - just noises. I'm a bit disappointed Skyen you don't even mention him mimicking animals. It's just part of his nature. In a way you could say fiddlesticks isn't even 'trying' to scare his victims, the things he does are just part of his nature. Maybe Fiddlesticks was somehow present when some of the other character experienced trauma? Clearly he doesn't HAVE to kill his victims to repeat their voice lines as can be seen with vayne. All I'm hinting at is that fiddlesticks is even more primitive that he might appear. None of the noises he spits out are deliberately expelled to scare. He just begins to babble - as a neighing horse, the howling of the wind in the trees, the exhausted breath of a victim, voices he picked up while stalking on a bunch of people sitting close to a campfire in the middle of the night while maybe mentioning 'fiddlesticks' this apparent myth. It - fiddlesticks - doesn't even know or understand what it is itself. It just is. And that's f-ing creepy.

My favourite parts are when he is saying ,,cloth and metal" and ,,end of men" because of the way they sound... kinda female. Also Tedrics ,,Help me"

I'm kinda surprised you didn't get the kindred ones. They are a reference for their origin story, what the kindred feared most is being alone, they were a man that was always alone and split himself in half, so they were born, the white lamb and the black wolf. So they will never be alone... Sometimes lamb and wolf tell each other the story while they are respawning from death. The Grey man it's "their name" and their fear, being alone.

When he kills kindred in game he just copies a voice line that kindred often says.

I'm guessing Fiddle Mimics qoutes from his Victims, Music, Sounds, Animals to Scare others

I was SO hoping you'd talk about this, because yeah these voice lines are amazing - and while, yeah the champion specific stuff is great ( "brother, please don't hate me" destroys me) my absolute favorite's are the ones that sound like they're just, talking. "they haven't come back from the fields, its been three days." "Fiddlesticks is just a fable. a story to scare children." These aren't people in immediate danger - that they know of, at the very least. These lines sound like pieces of conversation Fiddle might have just, overheard and is repeating. The really eerie thing about them is how like, The way they're voiced, it doesn't sound entirely like it understands what its saying, so much as its just parroting? which more than anything drives home how utterly inhuman Fiddle is. It's not talking, really, its just. making human sounds.
