I want to buy one but the problem is I don't use that kind of adapter (I live in mainland Europe). Can I use my laptop's adapter (20 V/3250 mA DC output) instead? I think I might also own a 12 V DC output adapter from one of my older devices... Or maybe If you know; do they sell something similar but with a type F plug adapter?

It's the pug I have here says 100 to 240v. So really should work anywhere. The output is 12 volts at 3000 milliamps or 3 amps. I would not use anything over 12 v as it may ruin the drive or the adapter. Edit: I see that a lot of other hard drive devices have 12v outputs and have two amps. This one has three amps because it can handle three drives. So for example if you had a Seagate external drive most likely the power adapter for that drive will fit this sata adapter

Hmm, is it a server HDD. it will fit almost any IDE or SATA device

This looks like a good video, but way too technical for me. I'm sure others got the info they came for though.

He was just explaining the types of connections and how to plug them in, as not all drives have the same kind of connection; and this device can connect to them all. Along with that he explained that the power brick was powerful enough to power multiple drives at once, how to get older drives working with the Fideco adapter, showing the different transfer speeds depending on what drives were connected, that it was possible to read more than one drive at a time (which not all USB to SATA adapters can do), and that you can transfer files from one connected drive to another.

Plugged in 3 different hdd...not one popped up in my pc....it shows it off the USB though in task bar...all three, 100% free space. Getting annoying 🤬

Did you check Disk Management?

@@michaeljillian3657 yeah dude. It was showing it was there, but I didn't have any options for it, whatsoever. And on top of that, it was saying '100% free space' ...for all 3 hdd...which I know isn't even remotely correct.

@@Jason_Van_Stone sounds real fishy. Well my first troubleshooting step is usually buy more stuff to test out the other stuff. Lol. What I mean is get another Drive, Drive reader and PC. and start testing Isolating the Problematic device. If it is indeed the reader you probably got a faulty one, email and ask for a new one. but try a new cable and a different USB port first you never know what it may be causing the issue
