pretty incredible regardless of the rests, the amount of factors affecting that bullet and they are able to be competitive at that range is mind blowing! I'll stick to shotting my .177 Impact out to 70 yards much easier 😂

For such high accuracy rifles, I wonder if they ever consider the loss in accuracy due to wear of the barrel rifling after just a few hundred shots. For most rifles it takes 2500 to 4000 rounds… but for this high a distance and small targets, I would venture to guess that accuracy is affected after a few hundred rounds… We can SIGNIFICANTLY increase wear resistance as compared to chrome lined or nitrided barrels!

This is the Formula 1 of rifles. You have to have really Deep Pockets to play this game. Most of these people are extremely snobbish when it comes to other shooting events. You can take the same Shooters give them a $500 rifle like the rest of us have. And they can't even hit the target at a thousand yards.

It doesn't take an exorbitant amount of money to enjoy. You can put together a nice 1000 yarder for under $5000 ($US), that's with Nightforce optics, figure in another $1600 if you want to upgrade to Zeiss. Most people wouldn't be able to hit the paper at a 1000 yards, even using the very same rifles they use. It takes steady, practiced control and you have to learn to dope out the wind and atmospheric conditions, and you need nearly flawless, consistent loads.

Really impressive shooting going here I’m sure, but funny that it got compared to the “F1 racing” of the shooting world. this is more like golf than any type of racing

I was asked to go to a shooting practice, little did i know its was a F Class shooting practice, i thought it would be some blokes shooting their rifles, you know the normal hunting type of rifles etc, WOw was i blown away, they let me shoot their weapons at 1,200 yards 7.62mm x 51 and also 5.56, my first shoot score was 38/50 and then the 2nd time my score was 48/50, ( Which is 8 shots hit the V and two hit just outside the V MAX) totally impressed with the systems they had, plus i do not have a gun licence / shooters licence, which is ok, if your under supervision at a rifle range its ok, which was at STAWELL VIC. He is right when he said it is Formula 1 Shooting 100%. Like any shooting, its the wind which is so hard to read, its ok when you have had practice in wind and rain or extreme heat, but hey i had not shot a weapon in over 40+ years. Last time i shot a weapon was when i was in the cadets which was the AU SLR 7.62mm x 51 Semi auto weapon system at 400 meters score was 98/100.👌👌✌✌🦘🦘👍👍

I fully appreciate Bisley but I'm taken aback that a license (or supervision?) is required. We don't require a license in Texas and you're welcome any time.

@@JohnSmith-dh4gwWOW so no gun licence is required, if only i had the funds mate, i would go in a heartbeat, to shoot and also to go to dearly plaza, i have been studying the jfk murder now for over 40+ years, it a dream of mine, so till i can afford it, maybe one day, still get a chance to shoot with the f class and match rifle teams here ,which i am really lucky i guess. Thank you for your reply, greatly appreciate it, i hope your well and stay safe. 🦘🦘👌✌👍

Lets say I have a 30 power scope and I have it cranked up to 30 power. The hash marks work at that power..correct? Now say that I am shooting at the same range but I turn the scope power down to 20 power. Are the hash marks still going to be accurate? MOA turrets, moa reticle with hashmarks (verticle and horizontal).

Most F class shooters use optics that are second focal plane and top out at 40x or 65x. At that power a Front Focal Plane optic would have reticals that are too thick for precision at 1000. So most don't use Tactical FFP optics and much prefer SFP. And some F-Class optics only have thin cross hairs. Instead they will often aim at a certain part of the target to compensate.

Reminds me of my days shooting competition on the high power side. Shooting 200-600 yards with AR15, M1A1 (M14), M1 garands, match rifles and yes space guns. And if your wondering what a space gun is think of a AR15 Lower with a match rifle upper. I have shot in the National matches at camp Perry ohio. They have 2 ranges going at the same time and yes they also have 1 of those ranges that goes to 1,000 yards for the Palma shooting. The best is you get to shoot against big name guys like Tubbs who is a multi National overall champ. The only thing is I wish I could have kept doing this but alas life goes by and things change but man did I have fun shooting in that sport.

IMO it's cheating to shoot off an absolute stable rest ...so all you doing is pulling the trigger. Where is the skill in that ? The guy with the biggest wallet wins by getting the best rifle, barrel, trigger, scope, dead rest and ammo.

So you can shoot 5" groups at 1000 yards without a rest? I bet 99% of any shooter would miss the entire target most of the time. F-class is basically prone benchrest . Obviously, it is not for you, you're too superior.
