Welcome to a very special experience in the Philippines! In our latest video, we take you on a journey through the Carnival in La Libertad, Negros Oriental, where we were invited as VIP guests of the charismatic Mayor Emmanuel Limkaichong Iway.
Before experiencing the hustle and bustle of the carnival, we were treated to the most delicious food at the exquisite Lalimar Beach Resort to get us in the mood for the evening. Later, Mayor Iway met us at the open-air concert stage in the main square, where he warmly welcomed us to his table to listen to the rousing performances.
As I explored the carnival, I discovered a variety of attractions, including the stunning Flower Wheel, the wild Viking Ship Swing, a colourful children's merry-go-round and a bouncy castle that made the little ones' hearts beat faster. In between the rides, there were booths with attractions from each of La Libertad's barangays, karaoke systems for spontaneous singing, stalls for games of skill and games of chance, and a veritable paradise of food stalls offering everything from refreshing drinks to delicious delicacies.
Today was the highlight of the celebrations, but La Libertad's fiesta had been going on for days and weeks, with exciting events such as motocross races, beauty pageants, sports competitions, exhilarating street dances and much more.
This video shows how Filipino fiestas can be celebrated when a dedicated mayor like Emmanuel Limkaichong Iway works for the well-being of his residents and guests.
La Libertad, we will be back, because this city still has many tourist attractions waiting to be discovered.
