Director Sam Taylor-Johnson's big screen version of the initial book in the series, Fifty Shades of Grey, stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, an English Lit major on the verge of graduation when her best friend, a journalism major, gets sick and asks Anastasia to do an assignment for her -- interview Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), the wealthy businessman who is speaking at their impending graduation ceremony. The two hit it off right away; the awkward young woman is immediately turned on by his power and control, and he's drawn to her naivete.

They are both very good actors but the author who wrote the book wrote the screen play for this movie so the acting is just as awkward as the wording is.

It is awkward. I don't blame the acting completely. Some books just do not translate well to the screen and sometimes the dialog needs to be tweaked more. There are many lines in books that when said aloud just sound awkward but when read it flows. I did like the movie but it was not without cringe worthy moments of dialog.

i don't think the acting is bad. Both of them are trying hard to get ana and christian right (don't 4gt this is a fantasy novel) These characters are not the ppl that we see everyday in life. Dakota and jamie are different ppl in real life with zero similarities with ana and christian. Maybe its the dialogues and a lil bit of direction that is bringing all the hate. no hard feelings! 😐
