That's just a visual bug. Sometimes the netcode will decide you got hit, then roll back and realize you did a successful parry -- you will get the parry and the health back, but the "lost" health stays as that checkered red pattern rather than going back to "real" health.

Hard to quantify. I like that he's got the safe launcher and a zillion routes from it. I like the poke oriented gameplay. I like the freedom of movement. I feel like I used to have a better answer for this back in the day than I do now. I like Elena and Guile because I'm good at playing a normals game so I really like a character with a well rounded and versatile set of normals. Sakura scratches that itch a bit too but she's well designed in general which is why I like her.

That makes sense, I will say when I was hosting my IRL friend local tournies (whenever my buddies come around we all vote on a fighting game and play a fake tourny for it for fun, but I usually drop 20$ for whoever gets 1st place to incentivize 'em) and it's impressive what a first timer can do with just Oro standing roundhouse and 10m prep time for the basics of blocking high/low and grabbing/teching grabs. He parries and hits a button, I do stand strong which is 2 hits. He only parried once so my second hit connects and trades with his normal

@@Bafael I mean the tech connected at 11:42, before your stand strong it looks like you do a MK which is a one hit, and as he techs he also takes the damage without interrupting, proceeding to do an MK himself

@@kholdway3788 oh! That's just a graphical glitch from fightcade, he parried on the last possible frame so it deducted the health and then rolled it back, so he didn't actually lose the health. Next time I hit him it shows his correct total health value. As of fightcade 2 that doesn't happen anymore I think.

His execution on dive kick combos is great, his parry feel and punishes....his grab game, and his general offense. Hits hard to bang with Akuma and not lose big health while being offensive. That's why hes 1 of US best Goukis.

I’m not really a akuma player, but I believe medium tatsu has much better corner carry. which if you know akuma’s corner pressure game, then you’ll understand why this is HORRIBLE for the opponent and great for the akuma player

@@Yara-cm8mh I don't play this game too often, but it may also have to do with the oki from M tatsu. You don't get as good of oki from a DP.

It's because it hits crouching opponents. Also if you land all hits you can combo but the timing is a bit harder. He also does heavy sometimes.
