David Escamilla from Crown The Empire gives his outlook on fighting depression, putting yourself out there, and relating to other people.
Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red started an online non-profit called HeartSupport to give his fans a place to talk about and overcome their struggles. His vision is to unite the scene--fans and bands alike--so that no one in the music scene has to struggle alone.

because of crown the empire i was able to meet amazing people and become more out going and kind and since then i've overcome some of the stuff i've gone through. they've kept me above water over the last 5 years..

The number one lie that depression wants you to believe is that you're all alone and that no one understands. Don't believe it! There are plenty of people who not only understand, but want to help you understand what you're going through. Keep fighting

I struggle with depression and Night Terrors and Panic attacks me and him can relate so much❤ love u baby Dave ur an amazing person dont let anything change u ❤💋

it struck me really out of the blue. I met this girl, was with her for 72 hours non stop. Never felt anything like it. And know everything is unsure and it feels like i'm falling back in the darness i had left.

Thank you so much for this, HeartSupport and Dave. I don't know why, but it means more and seems to sink in more when it comes from someone you look up to that has been through the same thing you're struggling with, rather than a professional or an authority figure

We think, as long as you're communicating about it that it counts. It's when you don't tell anyone that it starts to be detrimental.
