No worries at all. I have fun doing it and like to know others are learning and trying it themselves.

Beautiful stones. I love the first one and I also like the back of the second one. Love to see them set. Thanks Roy.

I'm moderately disappointed with it though. The first one was just such a stunner. I should have done this one first.

Darn sand! Both are beautiful stones. I’m sure Julian will be happy with what you’ve achieved

Yeah he was going to come by the other day but plans changed. Hoping the first one gets set soon. I want to see the final piece! It will be spectacular for sure.

Love the detail you provided. The first one is much brighter but they are both great.

I think there is a clear winner between the two but it is still a nice stone. I gotta secure me some of this material off him before it is all gone.

It's beautiful material ❤. You are definitely right you have to have a lot of patience. When I feel my patience running thin, I take a break or complete the next day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

I feel like I get impatient with life and turn to opal to get over it. Nothing better after a terrible week at work (like this week) than to sit down and plan Fri night and carve Sat/Sun.

Beautiful Roy. I'd love to have some opal of that quality even with the sand inclusions!! Just superb.

Great job on a tough stone Roy. It’s such a beautiful piece, I think it almost needs to be cut into 3 stones and the back would be the face on two of them for me. Still an amazing opal, if they were all easy there’d be no fun in it. J.Stav has the best material, love it.

This has been a solid marketing strategy for him targeting me. I don't want to work any other material now so going to have to buy a bunch from him now!

Color is notably brighter. Beautiful opal. I'd be inclined to cut this into multiple matching gems, but I'm guessing owner knows his market much better than I do. :)

I see a slice off of the sandy bit then either keeping the rest intact and shaped as a long pendant or cut into a pair.

Haha I need that on a wristband. Also a "hang in there baby" poster with a sandy opal on it.
