You are so adventurous…adding large people in your painting! Wow! A wonderful painting! Maybe I could try adding people to my watercolor landscapes…🤔

Beautiful painting, it transmits a lot, the fisherman calm in contrast with the movement of the water where he stands...very poetic. That's what a painting has to do...communicate.

That wave painting 7:09 , in the fore ground is nice because it's so abstract and looks like maybe a cloud shadow passing. Nice effect, keep up the good work.

Love the painting. In some of your previous videos there have been some interesting “figures” enjoying the beach. I’ve been hoping you would capture their contribution to the overall scene. Thank you for broadening your skills and continuing to inspire me.

Awesomeness ❤️. That's one really awesome thing about paint as a medium, if you dont like something you can just paint over it or like you said repurpouse panels. Can't really do that with watercolor, marker or ink. Much love ❤️ 🙏

8:37 - the limed touquoise is touched by the fuschia hue, it’s countenance in rouge, , 3 in hooded cloaks attend, adjacent below. Opaque views all from under the brush shaft, it’s blue adornment, with jeweled forehead, monitors but cannot by seen. Great energy in the touquoise mass, it presents it’s own, with the touch of the bristle.

Looks pretty good. I lIke the red in the figure against the green of the water. Also like how the rod goes out of top. Just needed a bit more energy with bolder marks throughout and softer broken edges to the figure so he looks less like a silhouetted statue. All just my humble opinion of course. 😁

I like the scene and how you painted it. To me the figure doesn't scream "fisherman", though. It sort of looks like an 18th or 19th century soldier holding a spear. I think it's how he's holding the fishing rod, mode of a martial pose.

Hi Micheal…Nice work. Small point. You used the word “scale” several times in this video. I think your use of that work was really about the “size” of the figure. When I think of scale in an artwork I think about a small model say… of a car. If photographed correctly the model could appear to be actual size of a real car. In a painting with good scale, if you saw a photo of it in a book you would not now what size it was. Think of an Albert Bierstadt painting in a book. It has good scale bc you can’t tell how big it is until you read the dimensions. Anyway, just my thought in describing scale in an artwork to me isn’t about how large something is. Cheers-Greg
@chamberlainpaintings9 ай бұрын
Thanks Greg. I was concerned with the relationship between the figure and the water from the previous painting. I wanted to use the existing pattern of the water in the foreground if possible and didn’t want the figure to look out of scale in relation to the water.
