My rutine is to 1. wipe them dry just with my shirt. 2. put on a fluffy CCM blade soakers, not the plastic skateguard i use to walk on them with before skating. 3. when I get home I put my hairdryer on medium heat and blow them dry, just careful so it doesn't get too hot, and then you can blow with no heat for a longer time. 4. if i notice any new cuts in the boot, I just tape it over with a black plastic tape. 5. and finally i put a few tea bags in the boot, that helps with the smell and catch some moister. (note that use any Axe deoderant is a hugh mistake, that will make them smell even worse)

@@lupina2776 yeah, that's probably right because i do the same. it actually helps with smell even though i don't know if it helps with moisture
@eunicornli4626

@@lupina2776 they work mainly for the smell. For moisture absorbing you could use a silica gel packet ( the little poisonous packets found in snacks like seaweed that have the huge DO NOT CONSUME sign on them 😂) you can buy a big reusable one online somewhere

I am new to ice skating (figure skating) at age 33-34 and this is my 6th sport. I don't understand this "hockey vs figure skating" cold war lol. It seems to be a thing.

@@jrg305 Well if you owned a German or Italian sports car you probably wouldn't feel comfortable taking it to the gas station service center on account of them not having the proper tools, education, and experience to work on the the things, not would you enter a Jeep into an F1 race or take a Lamborghini mudding. Different tools for different jobs.

This might be somewhat of a dumb question, but when should I take off my skate guards before getting on the ice? The benches at the place I go to aren’t right beside an entrance to the rink, so I have to walk a little bit without my guards since I leave them with my bag. Is that okay?
@Jackie_Porras
@Jackie_Porras 2 жыл бұрын
You should be perfectly fine my rink is like that too I’ve had a pair of Jackson’s for like 3 years and honestly they haven’t been damaged at all so you are good to go just don’t walk without your guards if you are going to walk outside the rink for a long period of time ☺️💗
@julianefaria7508
@julianefaria7508 2 жыл бұрын
Depends, if the ground around your rink is covered in rubber it’s perfectly fine however some rinks require you to cross sections of concrete so you’ll want to wear your guards while crossing those sections.

Edea, Riedell, Jackson. Remember though, there are a lot of cheap skates out there. If you don't have a skate shop around (we live in SC and nothing is around here), in my opinion, it is better to buy used ones that are of good quality. I used eBay to buy daughter her first pair of Riedell ice skates, but any rink near you will most likely have skates posted for sale too.
