Join us for an delicious Filipino food tour here in Naga City, The Philippines 🇵🇭
We first went to eat 'Kinalas' a specialty dish of Naga City that has been labelled as one of the worst foods in the world - as you'll see in the video I really don't know why...
We tried the cheese halo halo at Mama Nangs before heading on a Puto Bukayo hunt. Then we had some cheap street drinks and a toasted Siopao.
All day we met really nice people and I have to say the food was delicious and unique.
The food in Bicol really deserves to be more well known it's so underrated.

Hmm looks good, when I go back to naga I will find that place. I like that combo meal. I pass the chili not good for, I know it makes the food more tastier. I’m from there.

I've tried Mang Teng's Kinalas Special Kinalas before, but it was from their rolling store. I did not agree with Kinalas being the "worst". Glad to see that you liked it! For halo-halo, I would suggest Chef Apple's Native Kambingan Restaurant in Pili- but it's outside of Naga City already, but in the nearby town. But that also looks good. I think we will also give this a try! Have a nice day!

Very clever with the table and your slipper😂. Good job. You became a filipino on that part. 😂😂😂. Regarding with mingtengs kinakas, u should mix well the soup and the sauce and toppings and usually we sip all the soup first and ask for a refill 😅. Its free btw

jsut a tip when squeezing calamansi, you can squeeze it over a fork that would act as a strainer to easily separate the seeds. the seeds can be bitter when bitten

Pinoy food isn't as world renowned or same level as Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malysian food...or any other SE Asian countries. But we are proud of it and it's our own. Thanks for trying and appreciating it. Also, the same dish could taste different elsewhere because well, people have different palates. For us, having the vinegar or the calamansi adds a level to it and most definitely cuts the greasiness. Also, not sure if you've come across someone saying "nosebleed" it's an expression where someone has "run out of English" that they're having a nosebleed. 😅 and too bad you were there in May or June even because there's thi one island called Guimaras (ghee-mah-ras) where it grows the absolute best mango in the Philippines and in the world. They protect the integrity of their mangoes by not allowing anyone to bring in any other mangoes into the island. Just look it up

Yeah for me nowhere can compete with Vietnam Thailand Malaysia Mexico. The food in Bicol is so good for me though my favourite things are coconut milk and chilli. Here's the funny one I actually hate vinegar I think it's an awful taste, in England we'd only ever eat fish and chips with vinegar. We need to try some guimaras mango! So far Filipino mangos have been the best, juiciest and sweetest we've had!

All i can say is that it's okay if people say our food is inferior to Chinese, Japanese, etc. As long as they don't say it's bad coz it's not. Besides, we can't corner every market. We may not have the best food, but we are the World's Leading Beach and Dive Destination as per World Travel Awards 2022! And our people is also one of the friendliest in the world :)

It's better to be honest anyway, nowhere in the world can really compete with the top cuisines like your Thailand, vietnam, mexico. Better to focus on what your country does best

@@EllisWR Ah ok, i stand corrected about country name. I forgot that UK is composed of England, Ireland and Scotland. But i don't think any food is bad or "terrible" as you said. For me, saying that is insulting the people of the country coz that is their food. Like we here in PH, we love our food no matter what others say. We actually have so many other dishes you haven't tried yet. You've only scratched the surface. But i'm glad you got to try Bicolano food coz they do have good food there, esp the ones with coconut milk. :)

The kinalas it's not that worst like dirty or bad taste, but because the ingredients will result you to have a high cholesterol or BP.
