I think this channel has had the most graceful transition of on screen personalities I've seen on youtube. Nothing since MatPat's retirement has felt abrupt and I don't find myself thinking the channel's not the same without him; I can still hear MatPat's voice through the writing, it still feels like the same brand I subscribed to.

What's crazy to me is our lovely new hosts only have one channel to deal with, HOW DID MATT MANAGE IT ALL, I think the change to spread out the workload will ultimately INCREASE the quality of the videos put out.

MatPat managed it all by sleeping 3h a night every night for about 10 years or so, that's how. And also Steph handled the business side of things, while MatPat managed the creative side. And also, editors, additional writers, creative managers, really investing the money the channels generated back into Theory Inc. so they could keep expanding and making bigger and better projects.

I was so nervous when matpat retired because I'm very weird about KZfaq videos I watch. I was so used to the style of the scripts, and how the videos are laid out. I usually leave them on as background noise or when I'm at work, to mindlessly listen to and enjoy. It makes me immensely happy the transition isn't as difficult as I imagined it would be and can still enjoy my favorite channels on KZfaq. All of the new theorists are doing a great job!

indie horror is my favorite genre covered on film theory. it's so fun seeing the mysteries being unraveled. i was reluctant to keep watching the theory channels after matpat left because i didnt like when he didn't do it, but now that he's gone, the channel is still the same and i still love it

the new era actually has an interesting shift, with each theory channel having their own host means you can tell which theory channel you're listening to by voice alone. sure it will take months, maybe years before the number of episodes is high enough to where that is fully true. but it is a neat thing to notice

Honestly at this point it's already noticeable. And though they have the same kind of "Game Theory cadence" (I have no other way of describing it but basically they all "talk" similarly), they all have a unique body to them that makes them noticeably different.

@@johnzo7948the point about the second part of my comment was more that if you had a randomized theory list it would still mostly be matpat across all 4 channels and it will take awhile for the new hosts to start taking up larger and larger parts of the channel histories to be able to have their different voices have the impact to scale. Though yes i did notice they all do seem to keep the 'theory cadence." but this is likely due to exposure and intentional mimicry

I think the nature documentary are a bit like how Guby sees the viewers/kids, they are just lamb to slaughter, just to bring him power. I think the song title "any little girl that's a nice little girl is the right little girl for me" means Guby perfers the kids who play along, only kids who don't believe or talk out get kidnapped, Guby likes the kids who bilndly believe in him, giving him power, he scolds and punishes the kids who disobey, saying things like "only speak when spoken to" (basically "good kids" are obedient and naive while "bad kids" talk when they're not supposed to and don't believe in him (lessing his power))

This is my first Film Theory since MatPat retired, I haven’t watched last weeks because I do intend to see Kung Fu Panda 4 eventually and wanted to avoid potential spoilers, so I haven’t seen that video. I want to say that while it is sad that MatPat is no longer hosting the channels, I think we have a great host with Lee, somehow you just feel like you've been doing this for ages already. I like all the new hosts, but I think that Lee has definitely adapted the quickest to the role of host and I'm really looking forward to more.

Nothing wrong with the higher budget stuff or curated productions, but indie and analog horror is so incredible lately. By its nature it’s so interactive, and I can’t even count how many times theories like this have tapped me into new content to enjoy. Thank you guys for showcasing incredible creator works while equally enjoying the journey of theory-crafting right along with us in the audience.

If I had to make a recommendation on a new series to check out I would recommend Dilbert and Dingus, not only is it just goofy Tik-Tok/Instagram Reels/KZfaq Shorts content, But the lore is surprisingly deep. Like backwards speech, the death of a character, and a lot of 4th wall Breaks. It’s pretty interesting honestly.

I feel like people who thought the channels would die after mat left didn’t really know how things worked. I mean the creative directors had been writing the scripts for months. The only thing to really have changed is who’s voice is speaking. It’s the same team and the same editors but if anything the new voices give new individuality to the channels. Each channel actually feels like it’s own sibling in the theory family instead of different puppets one man runs. It’s really cool

The nature scenes talking about the passing of information made me immediately think of Thoughts being transferred from parent to child through genetic inheritance and potentially a legacy for this tulpa to re-emerge generationally, thus giving the gaps in years and connecting different eras with different iterations of it through a family line passing down the 'thought' that makes up the Tulpa.

It's a whole thing with KZfaq captions. The built-in captions editor for KZfaq does not allow formatting. They instead offer a way to upload a formatted caption file to the video, which has to be created externally. And to get the best result, the file has to be in the YTT format, which is KZfaq's own undocumented creation. This process is a bit obscure, so it's not surprising that someone wouldn't know about it.

17:45 Okay so since the title of the song is “Any little girl. That’s a nice little girl. Is the right little girl for me.” I think there’s a big reason for why this was chosen more than any other songs. Thinking back to the 3 main kids we saw and/or heard, there was 2 girls and 1 boy. We heard one of the girls interrupt Guby ( assuming it’s Michaela since she’s the youngest and younger kids after 8-9 years old are more disruptive since they’re so talkative well most of the them at least ) And then Guby had his temper tantrum and took her immediately afterwards. That being a bad little girl to him. I mean it doesn’t make too much sense to kidnap a girl who seems bad to you but atp it’s a fictional character so 🤷🏾♀️ And i don’t think Sofia ever tried to interrupt but possibly slipped up, either that or she never attempted to interrupt him and he still got her regardless but thought of her as the right one. I know Matt still helps out behind the scenes and you can definitely hear that in the writing. But wow! Shout out to the rest of the team! Y’all have been killing it with the videos and really made one of the smoothest transitions to a new host on all the theory channels m, that I have ever seen. 12:30 I noticed that the animal were talking about with all the teeth that he’s eating are pigs. Güby called a kid a pig earlier in the video so we can take this as güby telling us that he only takes kids.
