Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl make a deadly duo in this tedious action rom-com, but can Film Brain and Ursa from Stuff You Like take them out? Season 6.

To make absolutely clear, if people are wondering: this is an old video, produced before Jill's harmful opinions were known. I strongly oppose the opinions that Jill stated in that post back in 2017, and have tried to distance and disassociate from her since. This is one of several crossovers I have made with people have since otherwise severed ties with.

If they just imbraced how little Kutcher suited his role, this could have been hilarious. But then he helped produce the movie just to look cool, so that was not going to happen.

Killers is Directed by Robert Luketic who’s other credits include The Ugly Truth, 21, Paranoia, Legally Blonde, And Monster In-law he’s one of the worst Directors
@bradwolf07
@bradwolf07 7 жыл бұрын
I looked on IMDB and found something I found hilarious in the trivia section... "While the picture had no shortage of action and suspense, director Robert Luketic believed the appeal of the film, and the lion's share of the comedy, lied in the thorny issue facing the couple. He said: "It's this great comedic situation where Jen is saying, 'You've got a lot of explaining to do' while they're running for their lives. And while they're on this adventure, the audience is wondering, 'Is this relationship going to last? Can it withstand the lie?'." There are plenty of gems there. Man this movie is terrible.

Wow. Literally nothing in that statement is even close to being true. It's not action packed, it's not suspenseful, it's certainly not funny, and the main relationship is ruined by the writing and the performances. It's like Knight and Day, except garbage.

It might be less ‘glamorous’ but imagine if Ashton wasn’t a spy but instead a try-hard independent assassin? He just decided one day to kill people for money: wasn’t good at it or even cared about killing ‘bad’ people? Might actually make for a morally ambiguous character which could IMPROVE over the course of the film?

This movie contains one of my most hated tropes in all of cinema, a bit that absolutely kills any movie for me instantly. It's when two characters are pointing guns at each other. Nobody in the real world would ever do this. Ever. They treat it like it's some kind of stand-off, as if holding a gun on someone who also has a gun will somehow prevent them from shooting. It doesn't work like that. It encourages them to shoot, because when two people point guns at each other, the one who lives is the one who shoots first. The rest of the movie sucks too.

Dang it Catherine O'Hara needs to stop showing up in these stupid romcoms. I especially hate that she was in The Right Kind of Wrong, my personal pick for the worst romantic comedy ever made. Granted her role was small in that, but she was still the only actor I recognized and that's just sad. And that movie came out three years after this one.

Like most spy movies, nothing in KILLERS is what it's supposed to be. The audience is supposed to eagerly wait for a woman Jen to find out that her husband Spence used to be a lethal spy... but instead, I was eagerly waiting for something funny to happen. Also, we're supposed to be seeing a great love (the kind that would make him leave his career for her), but Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl have no chemistry. I don't know if I should blame the script, the directing or Kutcher himself, but Spence is a contradictory character. In some scenes, he's very serious; in others, he talks like... well, every goofy character Kutcher has played. Either way, Kutcher bores when he's playing the cold assassin. Heigl's performance ranges from bland (during emotional scenes) to annoying. Tom Selleck isn’t even trying. It's revealed that Jen's dad hired the killers to protect her. So it was all a misunderstanding? A bunch of (probably good) people died for no reason?! You call that a happy ending?! 1/10

+Lynette TheMadScientist the fact that they could not tell the difference between discs and clay pigeons is somewhat humorous

Hate to admit it but I think the chemistry and knife scene are almost anime levels of cute from a anime. I almost think it's a stealth reboot of cowboy bebop

Speaking of whining… "This is supposed to be a comedy; why is this fight serious?" "Forty-five minutes into the movie and finally the plot starts." As if a movie can't switch tones. There are some serious moments in Our Man in Havana; that doesn't mean the parts with Ernie Kovacs or the scene with the attempted food poisoning aren't funny. This movie almost looks worth checking out

After learning about Lionsgate's history, Twilight and Hunger Games were definitely the saving graces for the company. They provided 7 years of financial success that many companies dream of.

Also, I don't think this is supposed to be a comedy as much as it's an rom thriller with comedic elements. Maybe. I still like it, though.

Ever seen the Legally Blonde sequels? Are they worth it? I liked Killers. Especially at the midpoint, when that nerdy neighbor goes around with the automatic weapon trying to kill Kutcher.
