1. Obeying & respecting are different words. IMHO 2. Cinematic Liberty. 3. His respect for his father died the moment he came to know that his father refused to co-operate/negotiate for his son's life. Faith shattered. Nevertheless, his love for his mother kept him from leaving, till it was inevitable. I can relate to it because in its own way, my life's same like his was( in movie). You can also relate it with Slumdog Millionaire, in which, practically whole world was baffled that, howcome a ordinary (formally uneducated) boy, who serves tea ☕ to people everywhere on road & offices, knows so many things. Things which any other person failed to reply despite their backgrounds, education & jobs. But only that boy and his heart knew, that he had gone through hell & back. During that journey, he came across these things. There's a word "आपबीती". Rest everything else is perception & imagination.
