BST wants: 1. Option for Pet to engage automatically when you engage 2. Pet commands to have the same animation effect as pup maneuvers

I dream of the day for the bst pets to engage foes, but then think of all the afk bsts. Just blocking camps and letting pets do all the work like smns.

NIN really does need all of those changes to be more viable. However, I doubt SE would make so many. If they could only pick one, obviously the change to utsusemi through yonin would be needed. But I really think that aoe ninjitsu affect is needed as well. NIN has no aoe spells or ws’s... Great vid!!

Great video Rua! You know me (Teuphist), I came here to see the PUP suggestions and I loved the ideas. Personally, I'd like to have more augment options for Animators and the ability to equip other items in the ammo slot while keeping Animator equipped. I've always advocated for PUP master DPS and that'll never change. The skillchain prowess of this job is overlooked and changes to the automaton will make it that much better.

Great video Ruau. One more add to PUP I’d like to see, in addition to the dmg output ability you mentioned, is an attachment for AOE tanking. Just one. Pup already is a great tank for certain content but can’t crowd control.

What PUP needs to take it to the next level is an ability that reduces the cooldown of Maneuvers from 10s to 2s or 1s. There are a lot of DD attachments that could be better utilized if the CD for maneuvers weren't so high.

Hey, cool ideas. My 5 cents: 1. Not sure what you mean on Blade: Kamu could get similar treatment than what you suggested for :Ten (which was pushing its WSC to 50% each). Kamu already has 60%STR/60%INT. What Kamu needs is "Damage scale with TP" to like 2.0/3.0/4.0 and additionally fTP replicated on all hits. So something similar to Howling Fist. 2. If you apply all of that to NIN, it can actually become too good as DD. Super safe, providing buffs to party and having great dps. Why even having DD or other tank in party, when you can just take 3xNIN, 3x support? You would have 25stp, 25SBII, AoE Migawari for whole party, great DPS and skillchain sync, extremely safe setup. 3. Shun scaling attack with TP is very good WS for solo NIN. You would take that away in exchange to buff NIN dps in groups. Not everywone would be happy about it. Unless Kamu would get what I wrote above, while keeping its hidden effects of +125% attack, 25% ignore def and that could be new Shun for solo players. 4. All BST changes applied would also make it OP imo. It would be an extremely safe and powerhouse DD, with tons of utility. 25%JA haste, +21% stronger WSs, pet thats better than Caith. Thats a little too much, especially if you consider 2-3 BST in same party. You could completely shut down mob TP with pets, while doing massive damage from masters. SMN can reset TP with Caith, but it can barely do any dmg in the same time. 5. PUP changes seems to be more balanced, than what you suggested for NIN and BST :P

Blue Mage adjustments on the utility side of things would be amazing. Bringing Diffusion down to a one or two minute cool down would be amazing. And having spell duration and increased potency to some of the spells to match BST pets would be a huge plus. Chain and burst affinity timers halved would be cool too. Also chain affinity should not zero out the to.

My brother was a purest in the BST form and every job he leveled beside that was a /BST.. Always soloed and perfected his craft, but now has given up because of all of the 99 End Game and I mean he is under the impression that better jobs exist for that content. He feels kinda left out lol so I hope the updates can kick it into gear and give him a reason to play it again, watching that was a real treat man.

I agree with most of the NIN changes, though I'd add a couple of things: Besides very weak WSs like Kamu and Metsu, I don't think NIN necessarily needs too much improvement on physical WSs. I'd actually like to see buffs more focused on Hybrid WSs. I think it's an incredibly cool thing that NIN has which sets it apart from most other jobs, but it suffers from having a very high ceiling but /extremely/ low floor. Even with amazing buffs, it really just never gets off the ground against most even moderately difficult targets - you really can only use them in very specific situations. I'd like to see some updates to them that keep the ceiling roughly the same but dramatically raise the floor, so they're usable and effective in more content. I want to be able to do ~30k with Chi and To in, say, VD Ambuscade, or Omen, or Odyssey bosses. Making Ei and Yu hybrid instead of magic would open up more skillchain options with Chi/To/Teki when going full hybrid. I don't think pure magic WS on NIN makes any sense. Hybrid Ei would be particularly nice in places like Odyssey with double dark weather. It would also help a lot to have more WSD + MAB on gear - it's pretty lame that to this day we still have to rely on 3/5 Herc augments, and the BiS pieces are essentially unobtainable dark matter augments, with nothing else coming even remotely close. NIN could desperately use something like the newly added Sakpata set, but as a melee + magic hybrid instead of melee + defenses. Speaking of elemental magic, BLM is another job in need of improvements, and one change that could benefit both would be making the elemental ninjutsu debuff better. If you changed the mostly useless 'resistance down' to something like an affinity bonus for the appropriate element, it would benefit both magic - spells and ninjutsu - as well as hybrid WSs. That would also differentiate it from Rayke, since it wouldn't affect resists or SDT, and it wouldn't accidentally be an unintentional buff to RNG or COR, since there's no Light or Dark ninjutsu. If you did this and /didn't/ buff the better physical WSs, you'd end up with a cool DPS niche: elemental damage via hybrid WSs & ninjutsu magic bursts, and support via debuffs & the occasional AOE buff. It wouldn't overpower or displace existing physical DDs because it would still be extremely reliant on a metric ton of buffs to perform optimally, it wouldn't work against mobs with flat elemental or magic damage resistance, and it would synergize better with magic-oriented setups that aren't COR/RNG-based (which are in dire need of help atm) as well as future buffs to jobs like BLM.

Not that it matters much to the player in the long run, but for an AoE JA like that for NIN that would buff the party, it would make sense if it spent one tool (or knowing SE, two tools) per player hit. Minor nitpick: "Bombilation" is misspelled in the pet Gnat profile page. The PUP ideas look nice (I can see Overclock being paired with Cooldown), but I would also like to see a shorter maneuver recast timer, maybe akin to Rune Enchantments. Maybe a job trait that permits more attachment slots if the master is not engaged in order to buff the Automaton a bit more, compensating for loss of DPS from master not attacking, therefore not making it "broken".

pretty much agree with everything, but i would also love to see nin get an ability similar to cover in order to make it more like an positioning tank/ off tank king of the game, covering people in times of need mitigating the damage on utsusemi.

I hope they do not add the Raaz haste as JA haste as it would make it required to full time this pet if you wanted to do a fencer build. Instead they should just add 10% JA haste to fencer but they do need to add better shields for DDs. Great video Rua, keep it up.

The PUP could use a water attachment to stop it from weapon skilling if you're trying to skill chain with DPS and not the puppet especially because the puppet doesn't hit a pair of fencer war in skill chain damage.

Couple former bsts in my ls and just got the job to 99 myself. The biggest complaint a lot of them have is being unable to issue pet commands unless you're right on top of your pet. While I don't necessarily think that range needs to be extended to the same range as say a smn or pup, I do think the current distance needs to be increased. I didn't run into much issue lvling but a few instances of a mob running around (Shantotto spam usually) causing me to be unable to command my pet did pop up & I can see where that would be needlessly iritating for someone more dedicated to the job.

I'd like to see pup's get a damage reduction and subtle blow when melee with pet, can get killed really easy while your pet brushes lots of attacks off. Also for damage maybe a part that when equipped turns some skills into aoe like aoe for tanking and dd / magic just combine things like coiler and turbo charger and optic fiber into one part with better stats, I'd like to see daggers clubs or staff as weapon options too

100% agree with utsusemi overwriting higher tiers if it grants more shadows than are currently up. 95% agree with Yonin preventing full shadow wipe, but rather than taking a flat 4 shadows, it should make aoe that would wipe all shadows wipe all but one, regardless of how many remain. Agree with the ninjutsu potency increases you suggest, however, balancing Subtle Blow is tricky. Ninja gets Subtle Blow VI at level 91, that's 27 SB out of a cap of 50, leaving only 23 SB to cap, which is easily reached with any 3 Su3+1 pieces, or, often more desirably either quality SU3 body (since, if haste capped, the Dual Wield on adhemar jacket would only hurt their TP gain) adhemar bonnet +1, (equal Triple Attack to Kendatsuba +1 and whileit lacks the accuracy of the SU3, it really packs on ATK,e specially if path B, and that crit damage compliments ken's crit rate and the crit rate set bonus with...) adhemar wristands +1 (again, same triple attack, but with store tp) herculean boots (which are capable of up to 6 triple attack to kendatsuba+1's 4) and samnuha tights (again, STP, and 3% DA 3% TA is the same 15 hits as 5% TA as on ken+1, and since you're not getting 1000 tp in 3 hits, the difference is much less when compared to 2handed jobs, but I digress) Point being, Ninja most of the time will be capped on Subtle Blow in gear they're using anyway without gearing specifically for it, so Myoshu is generally useless. I propose instead, changing Myoshu entirely, making it a 30 TP/tic regain, which would synergize perfectly with your proposed job ability that makes ninjutsu AOE. and rating well above adloquium's pitiful 10 TP/tic and the astounding Tactician's roll, which can go as high as 79 tp/tic (crooked 11 w/ rostam and empyrean body. Lucky is 30 naked, 40 with body, 54 with regal) Stacking this on your party alongside Tactician's roll *and* adloquium could result in a maximum 119 tp/tic (appropriate number, no?) The three combined could be the breaking point solution for plague auras. cases of frequent terror/stun, etc,. For Subtle Blow II, I suggest, complimentary to your suggestion about the added effect of Yonin, is adding 20% Subtle Blow II effect to Innin. This would be more balanced, the tradeoff vs Yonin. And put Ninja on the Sherida Earing, for pete's sake. I'd say the Gere ring, too, but Ninja get's plenty of Triple Attack, that second ring should really be a Chirich +1 if not a Defending Ring. I wouldn't mind seeing more jobs like NIN and BLU on the Moonlight rings, either. As to weapon skills, I agree when buffs and debuffs are just right, hybrid katana WSes can be bonkers. I disagree with your statment that Blade: Ten is NIN's highest raw dps output, contending naegling + tp bonus katana and savage blade will do higher damage than even the aeonic and the tp bonus katana. I definitely agree Blade: Shun damage should scale with TP. That might put it's dps on the heels of the big boys. I'd also like to see elemental ninjutsu addressed, likely by making it's macc and dmg increase with ninjutsu skill by a lot more. I've seen nin's -ton: san's do upwards of 80k, even capped damage, but typically only in extremely high buff/debuff situations, but those numbers drop dramatically if buffs/debuffs aren't ideal. I'd like to see that be more linear. Also a NIN version of Diffusion/Majesty would need a higher reuse timer than 3 minutes, my first thought was 10. Beastmaster, I totally agree with giving BST WS Damage Bonus VI, but rather than changing a pet ability to JA haste, put a flat 15% JA haste on Fencer I that doesn't increase with additional tiers of fencer. This would not only help BST and encourage BST fencer builds, but would allow fencer builds on all jobs - warrior and anything sub warrior, like NIN THF, even Bard gets some fencer naturally. And definitely put BST on blurred shield +1. Imagine Mistral Axe (has better SC properties than Calamity) with WS DMG Bonus VI, Fencer IV, (450 TP bonus + 230 from JP) Moonshade Earring, and Tri-Edge. That'd be 1430 TP bonus off the get. If they're teamed with a Warrior and get the 700 TP bonus from Warcry with relic head and 5/5 savagery, that pushes it to 2130. Now your BST will be doing some respectable DPS. I've never unlocked PUP on any character since the job was released, and doubt that'll change, so I don't know nearly enough about it to comment on that section except to say that copying DRG's Empathy to BST and PUP is a good idea.

This just me but I would like to an ability or option on bst pets to make their AoE attack single target. To often in group content I have feel limited in choice pet or moves it because of AoE factors. The slug it a great pet for bosses in dyna but it moves might not be as useful while trying the path to the boss

Its not along the DD lines mentioned (want that to) but would love to see them rework the brains and casting times for the white mage frame/head. Healers are always in demand and our love bots could be an excellent new source. Especially in areas where the healer standing in AoE range is undesirable. A smart pup could easily keep a cp party rolling also if they added A. Some AoE healing and B. Faster casting rate.

to further add to ninja changes, yonin's accuracy penalty should be abolished, there is no reason for it. I'd also like to see the decay removed because it's just stupid hoops to jump through. I'd also like to see the directional requirements for innin and yonin removed but i wont hold my breath on that. edit-- To add some more, Kamu absolutely needs a change, right now even if you get the nearly 50% damage bonus from fully augmenting the mythic it's not going to break 10k very often. and since blu gets what is essentially savage blade but with 50% damage bonus there's no reason it can't be at least as strong as blade: Ten, it would give ninjas a compelling reason to make the mythic at all, beyond a reaaaaaaally expensive 45 minute reraise.

I'd prefer pup's updates to be more auto focused, either increase its attachment number by 4 and some amount of elemental capacity, boost attachments + new attachments, a stance that makes the master not auto attack or otherwise not viable as a dps in exchange for boosting the auto - similar to ranger's velocity shot (this is really so I can justify being lazy and hanging back while the automaton does all the work lol)

Time to reduce Wyvern recall from 15 minutes to less......SE still hate Pet on every way sadly. BST is not BST any more it is a SMN job, we used to have real charm actions, tame, and swap pets......not summoning jugs ... BST is all what SMN should have been really ( tanking, healing , debuff, MB, DPS ... which what smn is not nowadays ). And will love to see PUP having some kind of ( effect + ) with others automatons ( x2 pup in ally etc etc ).
