I think the fatigue of such a long run finally just caught up to her. She had been struggling the past week and a half or so with final jeopardy and with such a simple clue and in one of her strongest suits (she’s always seemed to do well with geography) I think her brain was just out of juice. I’m really going to miss Amy, I never could have imagined that when she first beat Andrew all the way back in November that her time on Jeopardy would be this impactful and important. While I don't believe for a second Amy threw the game or intentionally not answering the FJ, her fatigue was evident, and that probably affected her thinking process/speed, and ultimately just drew a blank on the FJ. She was leading by more than $15k with 9 questions left and it looked like another runaway. Then in a span of 2 questions (a $2000 question followed by a true daily double) turned Rhone's game around, and she felt the heat. If he didn't answer either of the question right, the game would've still been hers. It just goes to show how hard and impressive to maintain a streak. Though it may not be her style, she'll prob need to be more aggressive in hunting the DD to have a decent chance against Matt. Even with incredible 40 wins, that's only 54% through Ken's record. IMHO Ken's record will be next to impossible to break.

My guess was going to be Marrakesh. 1) I didn't know how to spell it without looking it up. 2) Not a country. It's a city in Morocco. 3) It's not even the most populous city in Morocco. It's the 4th. 4) Morocco is the 40th most populous country. I would embarrass myself so badly on this show. And, through my ignorance, I'd insult so many people around the world. So Amy is the second Superchampion to be beaten by a Librarian, since Emma Boettcher beat James Holzhauer. Sometimes when a category pops up that I really like (for me it's sports and anything American history) I get a feeling of great something I'm going easily fly through, only for the pressure of knowing I should easily be able to answer all the questions to make my mind go completely blank and then make me feel like an idiot. Usually I'll get at least three or four of them but occasionally I'll completely blank and get zero even though it's one of my preferred categories. On the opposite side categories I know little to nothing about I will occasionally get like three answers because I don't feel the pressure of knowing I should ace the category. I could only imagine with the added pressure of one being on tv, two having money on the line, three having to buzz in before your opponents and four trying to take down a long standing and one of the best champions of all time, would make some contestants feel that pressure that I do occasionally as just some random guy at home yelling at his tv

I got Bangladesh as the only answer I could come up with..but wasn't sure if it was a country..lol. My guess is mental fatigue set in as well. She started off the early round somewhat slower than usual so that gave me early indications that she could be done soon. As they record 5 shows a day and two days a week...every other week...she just finished her 40th win and this episode started another 2 days of tapings. That's roughly about 8 weeks committed to the show already. Whether she was allowed to still continue her regular life normally while the run was being broadcasted is anyone's guess. The length of time between taping and airing is usually anywhere between 2-3 months, depending on re-runs or tournaments or other reasons. Congrats to Amy for an amazing run and on to the ToC.

Im still a little surprised this is what ended the run, this one felt simple as its pretty much just a "name the most populous nations" question (but this is pretty much my ideal category for a FJ too). What a run though.

I guessed the right answer but rather near the end of the song. If I had been there in real life, I wonder if I would have remembered/had time to write down the whole question phrase, including "WHAT IS -- ?"

I'm pretty good with this category, and reading the clue and thinking of a certain area of the world certainly helped me figure out the correct question. Now, knowing how good of a player Amy has been, I was thinking to myself that if I could get it, she could get it. Then you had the look on her face. It looked so normal I knew that it could be her confident look or a, "Yep, it's over," look. Even so, when I saw her practically blank slate, I just went, "Oh, my goodness gracious!" As for Rhone, congratulations to him from a fellow Chicagoan. He did a fantastic job. In fact, everyone did a fine job on today's game. Janice did a fine job. Congratulations to her. Amy herself certainly made a fine performance during her run. Congratulations to her as well. As for show's 38th season, considering a former champ is hosting, I wouldn't be surprised if that has been helping this season become known truly as a champion's season.

Right away I thought of large country ending in H Bangladesh (sp) My partner just looked at me, like how did you know this? I think Amy threw the game; she didn't even write down any answer. This woman was a walking google . Although I liked her, I got tired of throwing other contestants to be slaughtered like a lamb. Set new rules; 10 games 250,000 max.

Amy is a fine Jeopardy champion, it must be incredibly mentally taxing to keep that up for weeks on end. She has such a wide range of knowledge I thought she surely would provide the correct question which, under no pressure at all, I named correctly. Well done, Amy. Looking forward to seeing you on TofC.
