I don't know why not. You got the same answer as 67% of the contestants got in this game. While that wouldn't have won, had anyone else been playing other than Amy you might have had as much a shot as the other two up there today. The only reason I knew it wasn't the Seine is because I remember years ago reading an article about the flood in Florence destroying and damaging all the priceless art. I just could not remember the name of the river. So I also would have gotten it wrong.

My first thought was Italian rivers but instantly switched to the Seine. Both were just semi-educated guesses.

I could not recall the name of the river either but I did have Florence because as a kid I read an article about all the art that was damaged and lost due to the flood in Florence and the magazine article came out when I was in the 1st grade in early 1967 I believe

My guess was either the Tigris or the Danube.

The Tigiris isn't a European river... though I initially thought it was a river in the Netherlands I eventually guessed the Seine as well. I got suckered in by the red herrring, The Seine runs straight through the middle of Paris, where a portion of the city is even on an island in it. It's a very reasonable, probably accurate guess, and if it did flood, the staff at the Louvre would have to make the decision to remove or secure in watertight areas a huge collection of priceless art. But I also thought of either the Danube or a river in Eastern Europe...and totally forgot about Italy. I know of the Tiber and Po rivers but I completely forgot about the Arno. For a historical meteorologist to not know about a huge, deadly flooding event is also unforgivable for me lol.

The Seine was the “too easy” answer so I knew it wasn’t right. I went with the Rhine as I assumed many works of art were still stored in Germany after the Nazis pillaged so much art.

I thought of Thames too. Glad I'm not the only one. The Seine, Rhine, and some other Italian rivers seem too obvious to me. I couldn't come up with the name Arno, as I never heard of it.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but no, she won't win a billion dollars by the time 2022 rolls around, or even ever. Ken won 74 games and $2.5 million. The next closest was 38 games by Matt Amodio, who won approximately $1.5 million. The person who has won the most on "Jeopardy!", however, was Brad Rutter, who netted nearly $4.4 million. This includes tournament play, however (in many, many tournaments). I'm not going to speculate on Amy's chances, but to put this into terms I understand (and I hope you do, too), 1 million seconds is about 11.5 days, 1 billion seconds is about 31.5 years. Basically that means to win a billion dollars, she'd have to first win a million (which she's not at yet), and then do it a thousand more times. That will never happen with any player unless they drastically increase the value of the clues. Even including championship play, the most the show has offered in prize money was $1 million at the end of a tournament I think.
