I so glad you received the trailer that you ordered, after watching this video I took a chance and ordered my 16 foot 16 k dump, and like you I added several option and paint. When I went to Selmer Tennessee to the Texas Pride outlet to pick it up, to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an overstatement, there was several issues with sloppy paint job, caulking and decals. Step up side was completely missing etc. I can only assume that if I had a you tube channel with thousands of followers maybe they would have built me a premium trailer. Count your blessings, I certainly learned my lesson. Don Bennett

I own 3 dump trailers 2 of them are 14' and 1 is 16' I really prefer the 16' because it tows better and is easier to back up. I love the idea of the telescopic front single cylinder but i am so use to the scissor hoist. I believe this is the future of dump trailers. I have on all 3 trailers 7K axels witch are great but to light for me. I can't wait to order this trailer because I carry a lot of weight. I spoke with Devon and this man is a real nice person with a lot of knowledge.When I asked him a lot of technical questions He knew every one of them. Kudos to Texas Pride and Devon.

Nice dump trailer. I have been trying to get my wife to let me get a dump trailer. The arthritis in my back kicks my butt for 2 or 3 days after a dump run. She keeps saying you don't need a one. Next hurricane that comes along and after cutting up down trees and loading the trailer she is going to go to the dump with me and I'll watch her unload the trailer by hand. I bet I get a dump trailer then. 😄 Thanks for sharing JD you got yourself a nice trailer.

Very nice setup. I got tired of bearing and tire issues on my equipment trailer a few years ago and made the same move. I had a 20' deckover dove tail trailer built to 10 ton specs but had it tagged at 15,995 lbs to keep it under 26,000 behind my 10,000 GVWR F250. Best move i ever made going with the 9k axles, 17.5" wheels and J rated tires. I haven't had any issues since!

We bought the Big Tex 10LX scissor dump a few years ago and cannot imagine not having it for our construction company. with a 10,000 GVWR, it’s more than capable to haul long, heavy materials to and from the job sites. Plus, the 7 x 12 bed makes hauling away debris the ultimate in time savings. As we all know, time equals money. I bought Big Tex for their reputation and the build lives up to that. The only detriment I have found is the paint flaking off so soon, GRRRRR. Nice looking trailer, buddy!

That price is unbelievable!!!! Given the build strength and excellent quality of build, they didn't skimp on the pump, nuts and bolts, paint, or lighting. Plus, proudly MADE IN THE USA!!! Definitely know where I'm buying my next trailer. #TexasPride 👍

That was a nice price, I have almost the same trailer , mine is blue and with the hydraulic tongue jack. The 2021 price is above $15,000. Price of material went up. I wish I bought mine in 2019.😂

I've literally been wanting a texas pride 30k triple axle gooseneck dump trailer in that same red with those same wheels downrated the same like yours... lol... im also gonna get the hydraulic jacks and the 48" sides... texas pride needs more videos of their trailers.. they make a damn fine one.

Crazy price considering the axles especially. Your standard 7k axles cost about a third of an 8k axle and above. I wanted to put 8 or 9k axles on my trailer but they are around $1600 per axle as opposed to $500 per axle for the 7k's.

I can’t believe it was below 11k for the trailer, great deal and value. I’m looking at a 16 ft dump trailer for 12500. And it’s not as heavy duty but will work.

Look for a future upgrade to make the tongue jack electric or utilize the onboard hydraulics. Upgrades to the guide bar with Teflon rollers and slides to keep from scratching the paint when using the top tarp. 7K hauling capacity. One work of caution when loading with the bed tilted. Smooth metal deck gives little traction when loading a piece of equipment. Nice price, especially since you spec’d it out and they accommodate that. 16 jealous people gave a thumbs down.

chris mcfarlane trailer is rated for 12,000 pounds Road use 20000 pound agriculture use, this trailer was de-rated to stay in specs of the truck for the road

You can always get a few sheets of osb and lay down in the bed to protect it from large boulders or concrete. Padding the bed first with dirt works too.

I bought a gooseneck 16K Delta last year. I have used it to haul topsoil ( no issues) last summer. This fall I hauled some gravel for the driveway. The pit loader put on a little over 6 ton which put the truck and loaded trailer at a little over 26K. The problem on a cold day was dumping the trailer. I should have directed him to load farther back. I had to use my loader tractor to get it up about 4 ft before it would push it up with the hydraulic cylinders. The single battery went dead so I used a jumper box and it also went dead. I really like the two batteries and the solar charger. I will be adding another battery and solar. My request to you would be to follow up with a heavy load and how that front cylinder works in picking that load. Very interested to see how that cylinder location works. Thanks for your very informational reviews.

I have the same trailer and truck in ruby red, however my trailer is a goose neck and is 12 ft.. super heavy duty 12 on center bracing , however i went with 10 ply tires with chrome rims. I had this made with the 8dea that it would have every feature that a potential future would want. The one thing i really liked was.the Texas Pride trailerco. Provided on their site was a l8st of all the options i could buy. I could build my trailer the way i wanted at my leisure before contacted Texas Pride. Thses trailers are definitely 5 out of five stars.

All larger 5th wheel rigs need those 9k axles. My wife wants a 5th wheel but I have my doubts on the construction of most. A few years ago we had a 42'Lx8'Wx8'T aluminum 4 horse trailer, aluminum slat floor, torsion axles with 16' full living quarters and slide-outs. They are built to tow weight and we were allowed to take it to every campground we wanted to use it as a camper instead of a horse trailer. The tack room and horse dividers collapsed and/or removable to use the horse section for camping gear and toy hauler. We sold it when we stopped riding horses but I am am leaning toward another one instead of taking my chances on a under-built RV, "if my wife really wants to get a RV"

Nice trailer, it's not a bad price either. I agree with going with an over built trailer and just derating it. It gives you wiggle room for capacity on private property and you get peace of mind knowing it'll handle any load you've got and then some extra versus being maxed out or closed to it with normal loads.

I like the new trailer. I was going to ask why not get a gooseneck version but with the deratiting to avoid a CDL I guess the hitch pull makes sense.

In some states even derated to 12k you still need a CDL. In CT for example, as soon as your trailer is 10k you require a class A CDL. The 26k gvwr rule only applied to the weight of a class B truck.

I Talked to Chris at Texas Pride and tomorrow I'm ordering a 16' 20K trailer. I'm getting the jacks for the rear, and getting a 12K hydraulic jack. Also the space under the dump bed I'm having a metal mesh welded to the frame of the trailer to store yard tools, straps and binders. I'm going to use the trailer to start a gravel, sand and mulch delivery service. Also doing house clean outs. Any thoughts 14' vs 16'?

14 is more typical but 16 will provide more flexibility and options for carrying a tractor.

If I was you I woulda got a fold down sides deck over. Wider, easier to load equipment and access the D rings and you can put palleted materials in it. I got a 8x16 GN load trail. It really is an all in 1 trailer.

We recently purchased two Texas Prides Dump trailer with 7’ sidewalls for general hauling and they’re fantastic. Each one pulls straight as a string, with no operations problems. We would buy this 20k load trailer for equipment hauling next. Stay the course Texas Pride!

Just a tip go for the LINE-X spray in bed liner before you haul anything at all in the bed, Like I did in my new 16 foot gooseneck dump. By the way its red.

What would you suggest to keep the color looking good and not cloudy looking since they don’t use clear coat? Just want to keep my trailer looking good. Thank you for all you do.

Nice! Honestly I'm not sure what would keep the paint looking shiny and bold. I don't really clean mine. perhaps a spray wax or ceramic spray might help.

3 things I would change, but all are just personal preference: Would have gone with a gooseneck, for ease of maneuverability. Don't like the hardware on the tarp scratching the nice paint everytime you deploy it. Have had similar ramps on my "Load Trail" brand trailer and they are extremely steep for loading equipment, even if you tilt the bed a bit. If they are wet from rain of dew, you are not getting up them. *note: I had a rubber tracked Ditch Witch mini skid, machinery w/ tires may be much easier.

We bought a tow behind beaver tail random axle flat bed trailer, nothing special, it's made by Trailer Baron out of Erie PA, we are very pleased with how it performs. If I'm remembering correctly, the trailer is 18 feet long. So we can haul any vehicle that we own.

Thank you for making this video. I am in the market for a trailer like this and the level of detail provided is great for me. Thank you both for the time invested in making this video. Texas Pride is top of my list for my next purchase. Could you post another video of the actual amount of material it will dump? I would be curious if it would dump a full trailer load of gravel/dirt etc. Several of the jobs I would be using it on would not require any public road use and would be curious what it will actually dump. Several of the trailers I have been looking at will haul a lot more than it will dump. Thanks again great video!

Damn $11k for the trailer you did well JD. I would buy that today. One year later almost $18k-$19k on their website. Hopefully inflation will ease and steel prices come down.

Nice trailer, massively overbuilt components but that's exactly what you wanted. The only thing breaking on that will probably be your BTBRV sign but as long as your somewhat careful it should be fine. Still woulda loved to see your truck and trailer both in ruby red, but as you said that would add a good bit to the price tag, and paying for color matching a dump trailer seems like a waste if you are actually gonna use it.

If you wanted to take advantage of that higher weight rating all you would need to do is to remove the pickup box from the truck. The you are considered a "tractor" & "trailer"...just like the Semi's. That would eliminate the length restrictions as well. If you have questions on this then pull into the weight station and park. Then go talk to them about this so you can hear it from the horse's mouth...so to speak! Beautiful trailer.

So with the derated sticker you can kinda fill it up and since most cops don’t know what heavy is you can just point at the new sticker and say it’s under the max. Not saying “you would” do that, but .......LOL.

Most weight enforcement officers carry portable scales with them. An average cop is not going to pull you over. But here in the Permian Basin DPS Weight Troopers will make a bible thimping Christian out of you. A 20,000 load on a 12,000 rated trailer would set you back $3K or better. Risk-Low Consequence-High

Does it also have a DC - DC charger to charge off the truck while they're connected?

yes, trickle only. you can install wiring on the truck and trailer for higher amp capacity.

Been a while since you’ve posted much about your Texas Pride trailers. Do you put them to use/work or get them dirty? Would enjoy seeing a long term review of how they’re holding up and what jobs you’ve done with them.
