Update: We found that the SVL-95 Kubota Track Loader actually was around 11,600lbs as equipped. Which makes it around a ton heavier than originally thought.

One thing I think mentioning is with longer wheel base vehicles such as the RTV you may want to consider locking your hydraulic cylinder because if the front axle passes the tipping point of the tilt deck before the rear axle is on the deck the tilt portion will start to lower possibly causing damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle. Granted it didn't happen in this case but certinally could under the right circumstance

So with a 12k lb GVWR and a 11.6k lb load, you have 400 lbs for the trailer. Do you think the trailer weighs 400 lbs? Or are you accounting for tongue weight + trailer weight + truck weight (yes, all 3) being less than the truck's 14k lb GVWR?

Used tilt deck trailers many times they are so easy to load and unload, plus after your back isn’t killing you from ramps! Really wish I had one but recently got a great deal on a 7 ton with ramps, works good for my landscaping needs. Great video as always sir 👍🏽

This is a very nicely built trailer and will work well in a mostly dry climate with shorter equipment. I had one built in the 80's that was very similar. In fact it was almost exactly the same. I had two issues. One, getting on in wet weather. The bigger issue and the one that caused me to sell it was while the trailer worked fine for short equipment, longer pieces such as a pickup or rubber tired equipment sometimes would reach the top of the ramp section with the front axle but had not reached the balance point to lower the deck. If I took another piece of equipment and pushed the deck down and locked it I still had the same issue backing off. The back axle of the rubber tired equipment would start the tilting action before the front axle got on the tilting section of deck. As I said, great piece for what you are using it for just be aware of it's limits.

With small equipment trailers I always prefer a deck over configuration, just gives more options for securement and placement of equipment. Also makes loading attachments/pallets from the side way easier. Keeps all the goofs from ripping off your fenders as well

exactly the trailer I need. I built a 18 ft 5th wheel with tilt bed in college about 35 years ago to pull behind shoertbed half ton but upgraded thru the years to a 2500hd long bed. Always had ideas about how I wanted my next trailer. I wanted to stay with the 5th wheel but still have the capability for goose neck and wow clicked on check out my new trailer and there is my trailer. Don't really need a trailer that heavy because everything I do is for personal use and don't haul anything over 4 or 5 ton. My current trailer is way to light for my 2500. So I need first sell my trailer. Thanks for the video

I use my 2019 F350 dually to move my kubota Rental Equipment around all the time, I have a big Tex tandem dual gooseneck. Works great, pulls strong, my GVCW is 36,000 lbs. I bought a f350 because I could get 3.55 gears. Works great, truck makes plenty of horsepower, doesn’t need 4.10 or 4.30. I wanted a f450 but there was no choice for gears. I hauled a 20k lbs Telahandler with no problem. These newer pickup trucks at amazing.

That’s an awesome trailer. I enjoy your videos. Just wanted to drop a note and remind you to chock your tires while loading equipment like this onto your trailer. Not doing so causes the stresses of the old to apply strain to the parking pin in your transmission. This is more the case with an inexperienced operator making less smooth movements while loading. Again, love the videos, not trying to be a critic, just sharing advice.

What if you put something very front heavy on that thing and when you go to back off it doesn’t have enough counter weight in the back to drop? For example a long truck that’s going to take up most of that 17 feet and that’s a lot heavier in the front than the back

I don't understand why you wouldn't have a powered ram on the deck. You've already got powered legs up front. The other issue is with the split deck you couldn't load two pieces of equipment. Two of those UTVs would fit but you don't have a way to get the second one on unless you have ramps hidden somewhere?

I work moving farm and construction equipment in Canada. I am concerned with the hydraulic dampener how do yo load a tractor pulling another piece of equipment? We have a trailer like this with a full hydraulic tilt which i feel safer with you can lower the tilt width a remote when you known everything is on the deck. Another option i add to my. Trailers is bed liner on the decking and all surfaces that can receive stone chips from the truck tires. Vertical tool boxes work better and take less space for tie down chains. Great video

Just a note for folks watching and hauling equipment. If your equipment is turboed always cover the exhaust when exhaust is pointed to the truck. Turbos don’t like spinning backwards.

Forgot to Mention that about loading equipment on a tilt bed in the rain or when it is wet 4 wheel drive or not really hard to get traction. Thing of removable expanded metal plates or something similar.

I load my skidloader on tilt bed trailers without tilting the trailer. I just pull onto the tail of the trailer and lift the truck up.

You need a set of portable truck scales. Add some foot markers to the deck with weight notes. Does anyone make "Keep in" place goose neck scale ? the only thing I found that was close was the CURT BetterWeigh system.

I have a lot to learn about weights and rating. I'm looking at eventually getting into hot shot driving and getting my cdl, I don't know anything about gvwr or gvcr, do you have any videos explaining all of this?

So are you saying with your set up truck and trailer you do not need a CDL but what if you're loaded with a tractor? That's considered GVWR gross vehicle weight rating of your truck trailer and cargo combined, will you then be under 26,100? Unless you're planning on driving empty. Because last time I checked if you're even 100 pounds over the 26,100 you then will need a CDL, usdot Numbers and if you're planning to in haul in Texas you're going to need TxDOT numbers regardless.

Hello! The only tractor that we loaded that would push me over the 12k GVWR of the trailer was the Track Loader (last one). Primarily because that is a VERY heavy Track Loader. Even the mini excavator was only around 6,300lbs. The way the trailer is rated, I have about 7k worth of available cargo capacity on public roads. If I had NOT derated the sticker, then I would have had around 15k worth of capacity. So, as long as I do not carry anything heavier than 7K, I'm good. Here is something to think about. My trailer, as spec'd, only weights about 500lbs MORE than a 12k GVWR BUILT trailer. So, I have a trailer designed to carry 8K MORE than it's rated at, but only weighing 500lbs more than a much less capable trailer.

i bet it would be hard to load equipment on that trailer with muddy tracks... not that it would be much easier on any other brand or anything... just experience on my end with my cat excavator and muddy tracks climbing on my gooseneck deckover.. I've slid off a couple times crawling up some angle iron on the dovetail... maybe texas pride can weld tome traction bars on it for that... also I'm very interested in how much longer we have to submit a video for the give away trailers.. i need one bad...

Are you able to load a cclb truck? And when unloading would you be able to back the truck up far enough to tilt the trailer? I ended up with a full deck power tilt for that reason. Just curious if it’d work or not.

I might test it. The wheel base of truck would fit, but transferring the center of gravity far enough back to tilt down would potentially be an issue.

Brock Knutson He should be using wheel chocks on the trailer , I would have been using them for the big SVL 95 by itself for sure , the fact that he’s not just shows that safety isn’t his strong suit, and he’s still an amateur at this stuff .

I do like this trailer, I'm getting too old to keep messing with under-belly ramps. The problem is Texas Pride Trailer locations, or is it my location. Looks like Selmer TN is the closest to Detroit for me but I'm not sure I am willing to invest in the round trip drive and then, what if I need warranty work.

If my research is correct, they have generally had a local mechanic do warranty repairs and they reimburse the owner. But you'll have to ask them. I know that most people are very satisfied with their warranty care.

Probably not. I have a similar trailer from Lamar Trailers and they sit pretty high. Youd need ramps to get a standard car up to the deck of the trailer

drop trailers are much much better for a track car. approach angle of this will most likely pull some bumpers off

Trailer would have to sit much lower or the tilt portion much longer to get a proper approach angle for a car. I need to use wooden planks to get a car on my trailer. Maybe BTBRV can test his out for us using a car?

I would definitely opt for additional traction bars be welded to the surface if snow or ice were a concern here.

Beautiful trailer set up! Two things that caught my eye though, one no mud flaps and lic plate is hidden way underneath the trailer. Cops will get you always for "Obscured" plates. Overall, love your trailer.

My only problem I see with your trailer built like it is, is the fact that if you was to load say 2 SXSs or 2 small pieces of equipment you would have to carry a pair of ramps which would be the reason I would have the tilt deck Other than this I really like it

Yeah, both wood and painted steel can certainly be slippery on tilt trailers. I would suggest traction bars be welded on.

Two skidsteers would go well over the capacity of this trailer. Skid steers generally weight around 8k-12k lbs. This trailer has a 7k capacity or a 14.5k capacity of not derated. If you want something larger you would need to get a longer power tilt deck trailer.

I'm still trying to find something other than get 10 foot ramps. I have a 2019 L-2501 with a Backhoe and Box Blade and a 60 Rotary Mower Problem number One is with any/all rear mounted Implements is when I load My 18 foot trailer and 4 foot ramps with the 3 foot beaver tail is that the tail of the trailer drops and the end of the 4 foot ramps lift up and the implement hooks the end of the ramp Problem number Two is loading with Backhoe is the lowest point of the Backhoe frame plows down into the dirt 4 or 5 inches for about a foot before it is up onto the Trailer. I was hoping to learn if there is a tilt trailer that has a shallow angle that would allow driving onto the trailer and so the Implements do not hit the ground Still looking, but My probable long term solution will making longer ramps so I no longer drag anything while loading onto the trailer Ken in Florida

Hello, So from what I understood from your video here, if I take my GVWR of my truck and add the GVWR of my trailer that would give my GCWR or the entire rig? Reason for asking is cause I’m a future Rv owner and I’m slowly understanding wights of the vehicle and trailer setup. I’m currently looking 14,000 GVWR truck with a Rv with a 20,000 GVWR that puts me way over 26,100 GCWR if I’m saying that right. Would you recommend me obtaining a CDL to haul legally for that weight? And I love the channel btw!

I would checknyour state laws regarding recreational towing over 26000lbs. It varies from state to state. I would also check the max GCWR of your truck so you do not go over that.

I'm a fan of tireminder. Keep in mind that the only truely accurate temperature monitoring TPMS system would be the internal type.

Denden 501 whatever is 10% of the load Of 20 % if your truck can handle the weight. If you don’t know get a scale for your ball and get a good feeling of the weight transfer.

I was nervous when I saw the SVL get on top of the fender! I thought it would be crushed but it looks like that fender is really heavy duty. I didn’t see no damage to it. Amazed.

Nice trailer but that deck would just be too slick if there is any moisture at all for my 7500 lb wheeled skid loader.

I've noticed that wood gets even more slick at time. If I did it again, I would have added additional traction bars to the surface. I may end up using a bedlining material in strips.

If it’s wet or muddy he will have to park the truck on a steep hill to load going down hill. That excavator will just slide off if not. I’ve loaded a rock wheel many times like that in the rain and it’s scary.

Nice video.. One thing that you need to remember. You don't need a CDL requirement for your setup. But you need to keep in mind is having a DOT Medical card with you. Using the truck solely personal use..absolutely no money involved EVER NEVER.. The Medical card is 10k and over.

Very nice trailer, the trailer manufacturer needs to rethink their deck angle it's way too steep if you have tractors with attachments they will drag.

@@BigTruckBigRV according to the specs of my Load Trail gooseneck car hauler, my fenders will hold up to 10k lbs. I got the 102" wide with drive over fenders as well.

your F450 is rated for up to 34,000 lb for gooseneck towing.

You keep saying RATED at 12,000 lb. you should be saying licensed. The trailer has not changed, it just has a lower weight tag.

Any item approaching 14,000 lbs. is going to OVERLOAD that single Hydraulic cylinder ! I would have a pump installed as well as Hyd. jacks with 2 batt's with positive pulldown as that trailer is fully capable of hauling up to 17,000 lbs as in most backhoes !

Trailer probably weighs 3 tons so can only put about what 3 1/2 to 4 tons on it.

I don't need one (and can't get one) because I do not meet these requirements: >Operate a vehicle designed or used to transport cargo with a gross vehicle weight, registered weight or gross vehicle weight rating greater than 26,000 pounds. >Transport hazardous materials in Texas that require placarding. >Operate a vehicle in Texas designed to transport more than 15 passengers (including the driver) >Transport household goods on a for-hire basis, regardless of vehicle weight >Operate a commercial motor vehicle that is owned or controlled by a person or entity that is domiciled in or the citizen of a country other than the United States

Just make sure you put a NOT FOR HIRE on the trailer so DOT they don’t mess with you

Hi there love the trailer I just wanted to encourage you to take another look at not just your State laws but the federal laws when it comes to a combined vehicle i.e. a truck and a trailer as far as my understanding goes the trailer cannot grows over 10,001 pounds The tow vehicle can gross 26,001 pounds but if you have a combined vehicle the trailer cannot exceed 10,001 pounds

I didn’t clarify if the trailer gross over 10,001 pounds then you need a CDL

In Texas that would be a Class B license. Again, only for commercial drivers. You may be talking about a different state

I don’t mean to be disrespectful in any sort of way I just don’t like the possibility of miss information being shared as far as my information tells me it is a federal law not a state law but I could be wrong and I’m always willing to learn

Why not purchase a 14k GVW trailer and De-rate it to 12k rather than a 20K trailer? It seems like a tremendous waste of money and you have less cargo capacity on that 20k trailer.

It’s a way to load 20K but be under the radar, cops mostly just read the tags....
