Thank you for this information. It explains several things. My mother used grease on my hair growing up because I pretty much lived in a pool and the chlorine dried out my hair. I haven't used grease for more than 15+ years and my hair is fine, long, softer than cotton and curls up with the mention of any moisture. With YOUR help I will FINALLY learn what to do with my hair. I am 59. My chemical-process free hair is about 40/60 gray and just 3" short of my waist. I do my own hair because the stylists in my area seem to be more skilled at working with artificial hair (weaves/sew-in's, chemically altered hair) and very little knowledge/experience working with Black hair longer than your neck. I was raised on Ultra Sheen (the green one for xtra dry hair) and I swear by it to this day - especially in the warmer/humid months (I live in Michigan) when any form of heat styling is a waste of time. Thanks so much for the information on gray hair. I have also used Matrix and Joico purple shampoos with great results.

Lady Karen, this is very informative. What of avacado oil????
@KarenofCurlHouse
@KarenofCurlHouse 11 ай бұрын
Hey Maria! Avocado oil has a comedogenic rating of 3 so its on moderately likely to clog -- I think you can use it to seal the hair but would be mindful on placing it on the scalp. But it's on the borderline you can try it as some things work for some and not for others.

What about MCT oil? Seeing that its thinner, would you say it's less likely to clog the pores? Great video as always Karen!
@KarenofCurlHouse
@KarenofCurlHouse Жыл бұрын
Hello there! Had to do a little research on this one, but MCT oil by itself has a lower comedogenic rating than coconut oil, therefore is will NOT clog the pores 🙌🏾

Hey there! Thank you so much!! Actually … I don’t really prioritize my skin 🤨 I use something over the counter - Aveeno I believe 🤷🏾‍♀️ I do drink a lot of water 💦 so that helps. But honestly I’ve always had pretty good skin

I am challenged with finding a clear or white oil for my scalp. My hair is grey but getting whiter everyday. Yellow and green oils taint my hair color. Looks like shae butter might be my best choice.
