Not having much luck finding a quiet place to hang out in Southern California, I finally found it in Ojai.
Ojai is about 80 miles Northwest of Los Angeles. Just far enough away from the crowds, traffic and smog. I ended up spending a few days in Ojai because it was beautiful and peaceful. I also did my laundry in town and filled up my water. Didn’t even need to use my Water Bandit.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.
Please follow along as I document my journey.

In an effort to help viewers search for the best prices on products that I use, I’ve started an Amazon Influencer link:

@@Patrick_RossI have a small SUV and I have turned the seat behind the driver seat into a "bathroom stall" . 😀 Would something like that be doable? I appreciate it would depend on how big your vehicle is and the configuration you're using inside. I know you said you sleep in the back, but I'm curious if it's possible for you to sleep lengthwise along the passenger seat and the back seat on the passenger side (this only works if you're fortunate enough to have a front seat that folds forward flat , or almost flat).

When I started building out the two things I knew I wanted to have first were a bathroom and a bed... just in case you end up in a spot where you can't access bathroom facilities. That Area is my home area! It has gone through a drought for many years, and recently went through more and more rain, and flooding, so that is what it is, mostly brown grass most of the year, save for winter and spring, when it greens up, then turns to brown in summer through winter. and Ventura has 2 trees on the hill, which used to be 5, but some high schoolers in the 50's cut some down, and perhaps they had to plant another, not sure, but I graduated Ventura High!

Hey man! About the hat, I'm bald on the upper part of my head, so I wear hats even on summer. If I don't, I start sneezing after a couple of minutes. What I do 99% is: I wear loose ones, just to prevent air reaching my baldness, but when it is really cold, I wear tighter/thicker ones, like the one you are wearing on this video, and yes, they tend to be uncomfortable after a while. You know Scott I have the burkey filters as well and I found a video how to clean them and make them last even longer flip the filters so water comes out of them use white vinegar with water then use distilled water to clean several times works great

I’ve switched to using Daulton filters. They seem even easier to clean and work better for me

Hi Scott, I've watched your video's off and on for quite some time now and really appreciated the one today. You're always so calming to me. I did notice how you mentioned a few times that you were chilled and I can't help but think you would be a lot warmer with a scarf around your neck. I notice a big difference when I forget mine. I hope you'll consider this! Keep up the good work. P.S. Your Chili looked great, and you can call it anything you want considering there are a million different recipes for chili! lol

Really enjoyed your video's great content. Beautiful walks, great ideas, another coffee bar to visit..to be honest, you are daring to spend $$ on new coffee..I get so frustrated when I'm wanting a cup of café and disillusioned when it's bad (sometimes a pinch if salt fixes it, but watered down, yuck) that I prefer to make mine because it has to be just right🤷🏻‍♀️I'm just so particular it could be because I've been drinking café since I was 10

I bought many pieces of SmartWool in August getting ready for winter. They were on sale in August if you can believe that.

Hello 🎉 Water is super expensive (too expensive for the amount of water they use washing in a washing machine, especially industrial). Several yrs ago I challenged myself to only do one load a month *just wash my dainties by hand every week or two and dry them in the air or dryer. I am saving half the water I was using. I wear my pants several times and I have maybe 20 pairs so if I just wait till I’ve used many of them (and thereby keep up with whether they fit me or not too! as another plus) I can just wait to wash unless they have a stain, then I might do that by hand Sounds like a big hassle, but after I did it a couple times, I realized it was the easiest thing on earth to save the Earth !

Hi everyone, I so enjoy this channel and found it a little funny that folks get upset about toilet talk. That's ok though, I understand (even though I find it funny😊) I use a Home Depot bucket, lined with bags of course. It has one of the toilet seats built for 5 gallon buckets. I empty it right away, and keep it clean with disinfecting wipes. Everyone needs to use something, none of us can escape it😂. Whatever you use, Scott, I'm sure it's incredibly well kept, and carefully thought out. You have everything just right for you, and that's all that matters. Love your videos, and will continue watching as long as you continue uploading. Thanks!
