That truck may have a Cat under the hood, but it is actually powered by your Tenacity and attention to detail. I can imagine how it felt to not be able to fire it, but you are doing it the right way. I think this is the nicest OBS swap I have ever seen, and when this truck is done and you start rolling miles on it the smiles per gallon will be worth all the long nights. FWIW I have really enjoyed this project.

I disagree, The engine bay is well beyond expectations, it's obviously not a factory look because the guy who designed and built it, used a thought process and made everything purpose built, user friendly and accessible. There was no expense spared, I'd say there's a good chance that the guy who built it is "Filthy Rich" and he done an awesome job! REQUEST: Like many others who are stoked about this series, when it's all said and done, it would be awesome to see the final 1+hr DG video special that takes the entire F350 build from [EP01] to finish. Cheers and thanks in advance

@@DEBOSSGARAGE Rich, hope You had a very good, enjoyable, useful, helpful, beneficial, successful, perhaps delightful even meaningful time at Ford Fest 2022 ! ->this video is the first one from Your channel which has been viewed by, with, within me ->drawn by a portion of the title "Finished Wiring But We Have A Major Problem… CAT 3126 in a F350" - especially via the wiring topic and curious what the "CAT 3126 in a F350" -> the "CAT 3126" portion specifically refers to ? =>thus, thought🤔 perhaps it could be a different ECU-PCM name that was unfamiliar with =>then, from the initiation it was clear - The swapping of a CAT-Caterpillar 3126 diesel engine from a school bus into a Ford F-350 Truck 😏 ->also impressed with using a Holley ECU-PCM for the vehicle in combination - clearly, explicitly one of Your sponsors 😄 A. What impresses me most about You Rich, and seemingly within Your mechanics shop, is the process You use, follow, proceed with is properly methodical, thorough toward achieving properly set goals. 😆 -1. ->from this video alone it is not clear how far You continue this process, with methods into the final stages of completion full testing verification as We designers, developers, engineers, technicians, assemblers, etc. -2. as examples, a full testing verification of a vehicle, all of it systems while in the shop, with the wheels off of the ground, on proper stands, a lift or similar, then via a dynometer and possible load tests [does any mechanic have such equipment ?] prior to driving on the street. B. You show the complete, through planning, layout of the entire electrical wiring harnesses for the entire vehicle, along with Your process of, with making each connector, using the Deutsche connector type fasteners, blocks, proper crimp tool. 😄 C. You seem to have a clear delivery with good descriptions, explanations, thus good instructor, teacher too. 😄 D. However, it seems You have a lacking with proper training with electrical wiring, assembly as clearly seen and obvious to anyone as myself with proper training. 😒🥺 -1. perhaps one of Your sponsors can arrange a proper wiring assembly training with a proper individual, with expertise, experience or if You have anyone You have contact with that has such expertise and experience within electrical, electronics equipment assembly, wiring, even better within the military [for use of MIL-SPEC-STD connectors (the cylindrical type with full strain relief, rotational locking, moisture seals - required use for 50+ years in US Military - also basically similar within ARINC Std - for 40+ years - Indy, F1, etc. began using >40 years ago and others afterwards too.)] 🤔 -2. points of error within connectors, wire crimps, etc.: 🤓 -a.the stripped portion of the wire should be inserted such that 3-5 mm of the insulated portion is inside the cylindrical metal sleeve ->then crimped including both the stripped portion and small insulated portion.🤓 -b. after the crimp is accomplished, an appropriate length tube of 'shrink wrap' tubing should be placed over the crimped wire connection to include over the metal cylinder and ~ 1in/2-3 cm of the insulated section of the wire - better still, to prepare, cut, place the 'shrink wrap' tub over the end of the wire before stripping the end - perhaps placing Your marked tag for that wire on each accordingly ->then heat the wrap with a proper heat gun [best with a metal cylindrical shield to hatting even heat around the entire wire - though of the more necessary for the larger, combine bundles.- several wires can be done together, sometimes the entire group, bunch🤓 -c.then each wire connection should be checked, verified, including with an ohm meter and using appropriate amount of force to test durability, reliability, strength of the connection and none of the strands were broken inside the crimp, or under the insulation. 🤓 -d. each bundle, group of wires also should have strain relief at the connector - best😏 if the connector itself has this within the design and implementation - clearly these simple wire block connectors lack any strain relief in their design and implementation 😒🥺 -e. -> these type are very poor, as the older nearly flat, rectangular posts and slide connectors from the early 1960's and prior 😒🥺😖 -f. -> these are slightly better with the cylindrical shape connection, improved wire crimp and type of metal used 😏 -g.-> still however with the same, similar thinking, view and lacking ->thus easily damaged -> the outer plastic blocks easily become brittle, crack, break due to the heat of the engine compartment and over time, along with lacking any strain relief😒🥺😖 -h. see 🧐 various MIL-STD, ARINC, other high quality type connectors used within proper, high level electronics, components, communications systems, etc. E. Unaware of Your actual level, knowledge, experience with, within electrical, electricity, from this video alone ->however, if these simple lacking within wiring, assembly exist, it seems like most all 'good' mechanics, they lack much of the proper basics within electricity also - often treated electrical as an extension of, with mechanical aspects with connections and close to, with basic liquid plumbing and sometimes similar with air, vacuum lines, hoses too. 🤓 Hopefully this comment will be helpful, useful, beneficial and viewed within the appropriate intents and purpose of, with improvements and benefits to, with , within Your projects, work, shop, and others too. 😏 All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health, Happiness and Well Being. 😊 Sincerely ☺

what i like to do anytime i do any kind of vehicle wiring, is run color coded string through where the actual harness you want to run through and use tape to hold in palce where you expect to mount it. gives you exact length to sensors, boards, fuse panels, bulkheads etc etc with some string. put it on the ground and start splicing n making takes far less time in my opinion that trial and error test fits. Edit(forgot to mention) I really think you should add Fluid Quick disconnect fittings to lines mounted to cab or major componets. you can use hydraulic quick connect fittings for this. varying sizes. makes component removal and repair or diagnosis really easy.

That little bit with your arm stuck in the cowl hit home. I've done similar things a few times and the last time, started to panic quite a bit (stuck in an attic space.) Stop. Chill. Think. I stopped and calmed down, and then thought the situation through. After that I was able to get out safely. I also remember having my arm stuck between the headers and body of my 89 Mustang once at 2am and lying there, wondering how I was going to get out, and this was before cell phones. I got out without major injury/bleeding in about 10 minutes after thinking it through. As for the rest of this video, I LOVE this project. It's amazing seeing you put this thing together. As you talked about at the end, I'd much rather you go slow and steady than rush it and have a bad time. I know all about dropping that same item 6 times because your hands don't work and you're exhausted.

The only thing I can see to make sure that you used are the gold plated deutsch pins on the CANbus wiring (coms between the ECM, TCM, and the holley cluster), and Allison makes a VIM(Vehicle Integration Module) module that handles reverse/Neutral/Park brake input/accessories that plugs into the Allison harness to simplify the installation. And make sure you replace the Deutsch 3 pin - CAN 3way connector as they have an issue with moisture/corrosion, and cross jumping the pins.

32:20 yeah sounds like when I discovered ferrules. Definitely a game changer. I'd say go with din rails, breakers, and weatherproof boxes , but with all OEM connectors and bulkheads available that looks great stock 👍 Wiring diagrams are a tedious process. One of the few things I still use paper and pencil for.

Hey mate the 4-6 wires that went to relays coming from the cruise control panel most likely went to the engine brake/ jake brake relays

I'm telling you. The Xtool D8 is the best scan tool out there for the money. It's $700, but it will do everything that the $3k to $5k scanners do. It's really good at programing keys too. I can't believe how much I was in the dark before getting an actual scan tool.

High idle is great for warming it up when cold and jump starting other vehicles.

Not really. idling high just pumps more water and runs the fan higher -- which keeps it cooler. If you want to heat up a diesel, just drive it. Putting it into gear and making it pull your truck will make it heat up real quick; putting that load on it. Because it's working harder, and still at low RPM's, so the fan isn't revving, etc.. Just put put along for a little bit, and it will heat up in a hurry.

Nice to see you're using bulkhead connectors. Seems all the newer vehicles pass the harness through a grommet and you're having to unplug a ton of connectors under the dash or in the kick panel, then have to feed it all out the hole in the firewall.
