This is a demonstration of finishing cuts on a wooden spoon bowl. The rest of the spoon is pretty much complete at this point, and I am only refining the bowl by doing the smallest shavings possible.
Since the wood is completely dry at this point, I am not actually carving anymore or removing a lot of material. I am simply smoothing things out and removing bolder knife lines and smoothing things out.
I am using a Hans Karlsson hook knife and this is a spalted white birch cooking and serving spoon.
