Kolrosing a Spalted Cooking Spoon - Part 3: Oiling the Spoon and Applying the Pigment

3 жыл бұрынThis is the final step in the kolrosing of this spoon. I am applying some tung oil and then adding the pigment, which is finely crushed coffee.
The last step after wiping off the excess oil and muck, is burnishing the design. This locks the pigment into the cuts and makes the design permanent.

Bonjour et merci pour cette vidéo instructive, vous m’effrayez à l’idée d’exposer vos doigts sans protection si proche du ciseau ! Votre technique paraît efficace. Pourquoi frottez-vous le travail avec une pierre si pierre il y a ? Je pensais que vos alliez mettre en relief plus important votre sculpture. Merci d’avoir montré la façon de s’y prendre pour dessiner directement sur le bois. Quel type de bois avez-vous utilisé pour former la cuillère ? Il ne ressemble pas au tilleul, ce bois doit-il être sec pour être travaillé ? Merci pour le partage et vos réponses, Michèle

Did I miss a video of you preparing the surfaces for kolrosing (Sanding or Burnishing)?

for this series, i took a burnished spoon in part 1 and drew my design on it. the prep work be seen on my instagram though :)

No - you burnish the spoon _after_ you'be applied the pigment to close the cuts.
