Listening to you talk about mud brought me back to the first video of yours I ever watched: the rental excavator recovery. Watching you dig that thing out, I was in awe. Little girls like playing with construction toys too. You took me back near 60 years when I would be doing that in my sandbox. This video brought me back to helping my uncle on his dairy farm. Thanks for bringing back those very fond memories.

Tell them to throw a few bales of barley (it has to be barley) straw in the pond - it'll clear up the algae. No need to break them open. ETA Now it's all redone, the owner needs to fence most of it off, leaving one or two areas of bank for the cattle to access the water. If not, they'll soon have all those edges broken down again...

That Pond reminds me of a little spring fed cow pond I used to fish as a kid. Mr. Twister was the bait to catch anything that was in that old pond. Thanks for sharing this video. Properly managed, that little hole in the ground can be more than a cows drinking hole.

When Chris was first out on the dam he used the bucket to probe the pond bottom and found that it was rock.

I guess you have not seen Dirt Perfects recent project where Jerry pushed massive mud through a hole they made in a dam!!! It was amazing but not how I would do it. Had to drain it completely. They had a river of mud running into some woods. The mud was actually flowing like lava.

A dozer lets you get overconfident enough that you might need 2 excavators and 2 dozers to get it out.

@@fhuber7507 I remember a time at DakTo in Vietnam, during monsoons when they got a Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) stuck on flat ground. They brought out an M-60 tank to pull it out and got that stuck. They brought out a tank retriever and intentionally stuck it, took a second tank retriever to hold the first one to pull out the M-60, then the APC, then the second tank retriever pulled out the first one, and everyone retreated for a beer - or two - or twelve - or until the last man was standing! OH, the horrors of war.............
