Recall is SO important - even for strictly indoor pets who never leave their houses. I always tell people that the reason I teach recall is because if my house catches fire or some other emergency happens and we have to get out FAST, I don't have time to be searching all over the house - they need to come to me and come quickly!

Most of my cats will come when called under normal circumstances (and I don't even have to shake a bag of treats), but they are less responsive if stressed. Your video is a good reminder that I need to work on that with them! I wish my cats had outside access like yours do but unfortunately that's not possible right now. Another of your many helpful videos!

Yes! If i talk or say things in the same tone, they do understand what i am saying, one of my sweet Cats sits and lays down when i tell her ;-)

Both my cats usually come when called (Lina learned quickly and on her own, Fiona needed a bit of encouragement), but they also ignore me when they're interested in something else. One of my cats (Lina) started sprinting out of the apartment into the hallway as soon as someone opens the door and ignores me calling her because she wants to explore. What can I do to get her to listen, even if distracted or stressed? Should I just keep reinforcing with treats/clicker training?
