I love how cheeky these songs sound, from Säkkijarven Polkka to Njet Molotoff, it’s like the Finnish knew how absurd it was for them to be slapping around the Soviets as much as they did.

Eggs and Sausages were the names of two strongholds at the Kiskis hills. At first, the Finns conquered both hills, but after the Russian counterattack, they had to give up the Egg. Tiltu's road ( road from lake Röhö ) refers to two announcers of Soviet radio propaganda, who were called Tiltu by Finnish soldiers. In the continuation war, catering lotta Elsa Lampi served in the same unit at Uhtua as Erkki Tiesmaa, who wrote the song. She was the song's lotta "Lunkreeni", Tiesmaa changed the lotta's last name because Lampi did not fit into the rhymes.

To me it's quite the contrary - the very un-warlike, cheerful feel of accordion tune makes martial music done to it all the more vicious.
