Anyone who says rotaries aren't reliable needs to watch this. This car has undoubtedly been through so much abuse for years, making 500 hp, and it's still holding together. Some basic preventative maintenance, good tuning, and an understanding of how rotary engines need to be driven, and they can be very reliable. They love being driven hard too!
@exoedge63228 ай бұрын
I was talking to an older guy about his similar build to this actually and he said they’re reliable as long as you have proper timing and fuel
@Dudeman93398 ай бұрын
So they require extra maintenance and special operation (cold starts must be allowed to run to operating temp, etc)… Only to burn oil in turbo applications and hemorrhage fuel.
@revelare_xvii62698 ай бұрын
They’re only unreliable if you don’t know how to work on rotaries.
@flyr198 ай бұрын
@@Dudeman9339 Doesn't mean they aren't reliable. They're just a little different and require a little more care. For some of us, the rotary driving experience is worth the few tradeoffs they have. They're just so fun! I wouldn't daily a rotary because of the fuel consumption alone, but I love my RX-7 to death as a weekend car.

the thing about rotary's once you start a fresh rotary on race day and are prepped for race on line. it won't shut off till the race is done. it may not start up again after the race till a rebuild but it WILL NOT DIE DURING the race. rotary's are insane one of the best engines for endurance races to date. want a high revving car thats great to throw around corners at events like le'mans RX-7 damn near indestructible engines once running.
