Least expected review ever on this channel. I picked Black Eagles my first playthrough and I didn't regret a second of it. I'm currently going down the path I didn't pick the first time I reached the branch. It's totally different from the other path and I find that incredible.

Just wanted to say thank you to Jeremy for showing me this game. This is honestly a game I never even considered playing but when I saw this review I immediately wanted to give it a shot. I asked my GF to give me this as a Christmas present this year and I have been playing it non stop.

Honestly I've been looking desperately for a new rpg game to play and i took a major chance with this being that it's my first FE game and i must say. I have never been so connected to any other rpg (besides probably zelda, even though they're different types of rpgs) as i did this game. I'm still on that FE high so it might be too soon to judge but. It honestly might just be my favorite rpg.

Fire emblem has been my favorite franchise since I was a kid. Seeing Jeremy jahns gush about this game is so surreal

I went for Golden Deers in my first playthrough, thoroughly enjoyed the characters and story. I'm currently in chapter 3 of the my second run (Black Eagles, Edelgard path)

Well THIS is not something I expected! I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough myself!

Please review Dragon Quest 11 S when it comes out. I need it

Battalions are used for dealing with monsters. They added Monsters to the game, and Battalions are used the counter to them. Notice they have the 4 yellow shields that need 2 attacks on each one to break it. This is pretty hard to do, especially when there are multiple monsters to deal with. So with Battalions, you can target 2-4 shields at the same time (Resonant Lightning for example) and so it only takes 2 battalions to break the shield, get the ore, and have it stunned for a turn. The only time you'd want to use a Battalion on a normal enemy is if their avoid is at ridiculous levels. For example, Felix couldn't hit an enemy in the second last chapter in the Blue Lions route - it was at 0% - which was incredible. A lot of other characters couldn't hit them either. But a battalion was at 100%.

Definitely my favorite FE game. Golden deer all the way!

Like you said, you get so attached to your characters, and I love each one of em (even you ignatz, though you're my weakest). I'm also sleep deprived, so I feel you on that! Protip. Make all fast melee class characters max out brigand XP. Death blow is a must have. Have all slow characters max out Pegasus knight XP for darting blow.

What a surprise to see you review this! I felt exactly like what you said in the video where you couldn't imagine being more attached to other characters in the other classes. Beat the game with the Blue Lions and I loved that group of characters and did not recruit anyone. Currently playing through Golden Deer and damn I actually ended up falling in love with these guys just as much! 111 hours in and I have no plans on stopping until I do all 4 routes. Ayy any Caspar + Hilda fans out there?

I liked Fates a lot more than most FE fans did, but the game had some major problems. The story was just not particularly interesting, the game was more focused on being a waifu and kid creation simulator, and you could bug or hack characters to get super overpowered traits and abilities through the online system by visiting other players’ places. But this game really felt like I was playing the first two Fire Emblem games I played again, those being the one with Lynn, Eliwood, and Hector and The Sacred Stones. I REALLY liked the dramatic shift in tone between Part I and II (ESPECIALLY for the Black Eagles) and the game handled some of its mature themes so incredibly well. I was legitimately tearing up in the second to last Black Eagle stage if you side with Edelgard. This is the first RPG I’ve played where I immediately started a new playthrough as soon as I finished it, I usually wait a bit before replaying.
