I remember back in 2009, before Ocean Eyes came out, was at his concert in Baltimore…the day Michael Jackson died… At the very end he debuted Fireflies to us early and it was one of the most magical moments ever. Just us in the room getting to hear a masterpiece. While this edit is definitely sad (even more sad with memories and Tiktok videos) I still love it just as I love the original.

I agree!! This was my childhood song and it always reminded me growing up of the Christmas and thanksgiving parties we’d have at my uncle’s every year and my granny would be there too. Now she’s not here anymore. She passed away May 21, 2021. I love her very much and miss her so much every single day! This slowed version really brings all the memories from over the years back. She treated all of us like her young brothers and sisters, I looked up at her and she gained my respect because of that but it's so sad and painful because she passed away last march😞 but the memories and lessons she left will be in our hearts forever.
