I saw Firehouse in 1991, three weeks after I almost died in a car accident. I had to sit for the show but it was worth it. Fast forward to a few years back and I was at their concert with my younger friend. He was wearing my concert shirt from 91 because I'm too fat now, and the drummer pointed at him with a stick and gave him a curious look like "where did you get that?" He pointed at me and I saw the recognition of an original fan. He smiled and nodded his head, and I smiled back. A great memory from a great band.

Certainly better than most of what came after. It's amazing to think about how people used to complain about glam metal and, in the 70's, disco music. It's like, do you not know how much worse it can get? Clearly they could never fathom something like nu metal, pop-punk, or mumble/fap rap. Yeah hair metal had a lot of cheese and much of it was formulaic, but I'll take ANY hair band over any post-grunge, nu metal, or butt-rock band of the late 90's onward. Maybe had people known what would've come after the mainstreaming of punk killed every quality standard in the 90's, they wouldn't have been so eager to embrace it.

Ditto! I was also 16 when this came out. Unfortunately, grunge came out shortly after some of these bands who had amazing music in 90 /91 & music & the culture shifted, sadly. I say sadly because in hindsight most grunge bands sucked; the musicianship & talent wasn’t even close with the exception of bands like Soundgarden & STP.

I have to agree. This song has so many similarities to modern Rock. They undoubtedly were an inspiration, and they got overlooked from the competition. I have to listen to their LP's now.

Most underrated band in history is XYZ, as evidenced by the fact nobody knows who they are. Look up their songs "Nice Day To Die", "Souvenirs" and "What Keeps Me Loving You" for verification. That being said, Firehouse definitely rocked far above the level of appreciation they received. It's unfortunate grunge and old school rock couldn't coexist in the record label's minds. It robbed us of some serious awesomeness.

I'm glad I got to meet them at Rolling Stone Records in Chicago, back in 92. Got the whole band's signatures! Still have them too. RIP CJ

He was so good really and under many people's radar. I'll never forget the first time hearing this song in the summer of 91. I never heard of Firehouse and I liked the song in the first 10 seconds. He has such warm tone and distinction to thar voice. Hair metal died almost overnight around 2 years later and I lost track of them but never forgot them. I have their 1st and 2nd albums and still would listen every year ! May God Blesd you again CJ if you're up there!! Miss you buddy!!
