Years ago I used to make this casserole on Christmas Eve, and cooked it Christmas morning while my family opened presents, this casserole was one of my family traditions! Now my daughter does the same casserole for her family, on Christmas morning.

okay, so today i made this casserole using 2 rolls sausage with chopped onions, then 24 eggs with 2 cups of milk, and a minimum of 16 oz of orange mild cheddar cheese. at 350 oven it only took 40 minutes to bake. i think it was done at 30 minutes really. but this came out so awesome. then i made some FRENCH TOAST CRUMBLE. i tore up some day-old hamburger buns and lightly browned the pieces on a large baking sheet, then in a huge bowl i put 6 eggs, 2 tablespoons vanilla, 1/4 cup of sugar. beat it, add the dried breads till all the liquid has soaked into them. put 2 tablespoons butter in a frying pan and when its hot, dump thatfireman's

Looks delicious! I was thinking when I make this I’ll add O’Brien Hash Browns to this casserole. I’m anxious to see your video with the hash browns included. I'm 75+ and have been cooking since I was eleven years old and Swaggerty's was always my favorite, but I like the HOT! I have a similar recipe called TRAMP EGGS that I heard on the radio on my way to college one day. I even made this for my neighbors for Christmas breakfast one year. Spray oven-proof pan with vegetable spray, I used olive oil. Then break enough eggs to cover the bottom. Add crumbled cooked meat and dot the egg whites with milk, cover with grated cheddar cheese and bake at 350* until the eggs are done like you like them, checking with a knife to test the yolks for doneness. They loved it. TRAMP EGGS was made during the depression when a man knocked on a woman's kitchen door and asked if she had anything he could eat as he was starving. She named them TRAMP EGGS. This was my go-to recipe for Christmas breakfast. I have also used crispy bacon and/or chopped ham instead of sausage.

Had to use Johnsonville sausage crumbles at my discount store. Used my sweet' pepper poppers 'from my garden. It's still in my oven at 920pm. Used a discount pint of heavy cream and whole milk. It's almost done. The dang step that I missed was cheese over the egg prior to putting down the sausage.. This is actually a good breakfast for my children and I heading out to work, and very cost effective. Thank you for this recipe!!!

Just pulled it out of the oven. The sausage sank to the bottom, because I skipped a step. It's cut up and cooling. Fluffy as a pancake!! I was just texting my mom that I will use this recipe for a dinner seafood casserole w spinach and mushrooms.

I live in eastern Iowa and never thought that I would find Swaggerty's here. I used their store locator and found it 10 miles away in Western Illinois. I fried some up for breakfast yesterday. I'm usually not big on sausage, but it was delicious and juicy. Every time I came inside I could smell it and it smelled great. Going to try this recipe.

Mom has made this for years for Christmas breakfast. She uses both red and green bell peppers and adds hash browns to the bottom layer. For the top layer of cheese she mixes it with half a bag of Sage flavored unprepared Stove Top and sprinkles the mixture on top then bakes the casserole.

A perfect keto recipe. I have a breakfast casserole like this in my refrigerator almost all the time so that I can just grab a square quickly and eat it cold. It keeps me on my ketogenic diet!

Bob Evans sausage is my favorite. Never tried Swaggerty, though. Jimmy Dean is a solid alternative for me when I can't find Bob Evans. The difference is mostly in the texture, which is something I care about.
