3 symmetrical scales you should know

Here’s a quick video showing 3 examples of symmetrical scales that are used often in Heavy Metal:
- the diminished scale
- the half diminished scale (aka the half-whole or whole-half scale)
- the whole tone scale
There’s obviously many ways to utilize these ideas. Feel free to get creative & come up with your own licks!

Augmented triads and inversions fit perfect in the whole tone scale. It is super cool sounding and it's just one shape all the up the neck.

Erm ... first one is a diminished arpeggio not scale and second one is a diminished scale , ( one of 2 )not half diminished as that would be a minor 7 flat 5 .. which is Locrian mode. But I know what you mean , best to get terminology right if your teaching though . Whole tone scale ... yes ..correct ... 😁😁 Augmented (5th) Boom 💥
