The hardest part is to get in and not getting fired🤣

Getting in yes, it's competitive. However, once you are in, you usually won't get fired. You will realized the place is no longer for you and you will leave or you will simpli get better opportunity.

Btw. from my experience, it's usually not the clients that push you hard, it's usually the pressure we put on ourselves. It's never the client saying at 6 PM "tomorrow morning I expect 100 pages deck on my table" ;)

Sounds like they need to up their IT game seriously. How can such a prestigious company still rely on so much manual work?

That's a very good point! The only Big 4 I'd consider is Deloitte althought it doesn't have the MBB reputation but I do know they work on implementation a lot as well as the theory so it would help to an extent with exit opportunities.

@@rudolphdandelion6840Old comment but as someone who just recently got an offer from Deloitte, I wholeheartedly agree. I actually had to hold in my laughter when I heard they offered me €500/MONTH below market price. It’s insultingly low for the amount of hours you’re expected to work.

I left MBB general consulting track because the salary was miserable when comparing to other opportunities in a developing country such as Brazil. Growth tech and startups would pay more for 9-5 jobs and even having a faster career path (at least for the first 5-7 years). IB would pay 3x+ consulting salary for a very similar amount of working hours. Then I left for another MBB in Europe to work as a Data Scientist, where the salary gap to IB and Growth tech is not that big

So what are the typical exits from consulting? Especially if one has been in a senior role for a long time and lack specific hands-on industry experience.
@FirmLearning
@FirmLearning 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the role you are leaving from. IMHO the sweet spot is early project lead.

Thanks...I like to solve problems and I was interested in consulting...but after watching this video I am no longer interested as I like both theory + practical..I like work life balance .. So consulting isn't for me...Are there any other career options similar to consultancy but without these drawbacks?
