I technically do not have classes because I finished mu PhD coursework last year, but I show you what it is like to be a teacher assistant.

WHO AM I?
I am a Harvard Graduate School of Education alumni '16 and a current PhD student in the Department of Education Studies at the University of California San Diego. I produce videos about the graduate school application and my journey through a PhD program. Subscribe to follow my journey through the PhD experience and to gain insight on how to best prepare for the graduate school application process.
I created this channel because I did not have access to many resources when I was applying for graduate programs. Now that I have been through two graduate school application processes, I want to share my knowledge and the helpful information I have gained through those experiences.
Additionally, for the past four years, I have been working as a Retention Specialist and Director for a federally-funded program at a higher education institution. I spent these four years helping over 400 students to apply to four-year institutions, attain scholarships, and navigate the higher education system. I created this channel in order to share my knowledge of college access as it pertains to graduate school.

Thank you! Overall, you have to be a well rounded applicant. For CS, it’s important to have experience in the field and to have a good gpa and test scores to be a competitive applicant.

How did you get approval to have your dog in grad housing? The disability office just denied me a week before I am supposed move from across the country, despite the fact that i have a life-threatening chronic illness with an ESA letter and I am freaking out because I got offered SHORE but if I can't bring my dog I will have to turn down the offer and possibly the PhD over all. Any advice?

What I’m going to share is my experience. Take it with a grain of salt. I don’t have approval from grad housing to have my dog and many of neighbors don’t either. Grad housing has so many dogs (we’ve become friends overtime) and my partner and I have asked about that and they too didn’t get approval. We’ve only had our dog for a year now and nothing has happened, however, whenever they have to inspect our apartment or fix anything we take our dog to daycare for the day. I think you’ll be fine they rarely even check your apartment or anything and no one has told us anything about our dog. I would ask students in your department who live in grad housing about this situation and I’m surprised that you denied. Good luck!

Good morning sir, I want to ask a question. I am planning to apply for a PhD English program. For my sample writing, am I to submit my master's thesis? Note the page limit should not be above 25 pages. So what part of my thesis should I submit?

You should submit the sections that are the best written and that showcase your critical thinking and analysis skills. Most people choose to submit their literature review section since you don’t need too much context for it to showcase why it was written. The other sections alone might need more explanation so I would send the literature review part.
