We have 7 kids and our oldest 2 have been using the curriculum to teach their siblings second and first grade. They have told me they have gotten better at their facts and learned terms they didn’t know or didn’t remember. I recommend your course to every homeschool mom- it is the best for math skills with relationship building in simple fun ways. Thank you for this great curriculum!!

My daughter loves Math with Confidence. Thank you! I was just wondering what your thoughts are on using "jumps" on the number line for addition and subtraction in first grade?

Great question! I prefer not to use them in the younger grades, since they encourage kids to count one-by-one to find answers for addition and subtraction. (And if you're using MWC, you know I'm all about subitizing at that stage!) Instead, I introduce number lines in second grade, after kids have a good mastery of subitizing and have already started to master the addition and subtraction relationships. Happy Math!

Thank you so much for the reply! My daughter is attending an enrichment program and I usually don't put my kiddos in any of the math classes because of subjects like this, but thanks to you and MWC she absolutely loves math and begged to go to math class so I relented this year. Now I am just concerned that the methods they use will confuse her or discourage her love of math. My daughter and I are both looking forward to Second Grade Math with Confidence. Thank you so much for everything you do!

Such a great book! I used it this summer with my youngest student and wiiiiish my older kids could have used it back in the day!
