First Impressions of Colombo (We did not expect this!) 🇱🇰

Today ‪@betsythomps‬ and I explore the modern side of Colombo, Sri Lanka. It's our very first, full day here and we absolutely love it! We can't believe how modern and developed this place is. This place feels a lot different to most of Sri Lanka, it's very technologically advanced here.

How come Sri Lankan cities are different from other South Asian cities? I am a Singaporean and I have travelled to Dhaka, New Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad and they have entirely different vibe than that of Colombo.. I have never seen such a fine mixture of green, skyscrapers, cleanliness and orderliness in any other South Asian city.. Colombo is surely pretty close to Harbourfront area of Singapore! Sri Lankans really have a unique taste for sure!

As a person who lived in England for some years I am proud to be a Sri Lankan. England on the other hand was horrible. To point out a few.. bad weather, racism, crime and poverty. Im not saying that Sri Lanka is all sunshine and rainbows but life here is simple and stress free. It sure is paradise here!

Its nothing to wonder 🙂.Colombo is the most developed city and cleanest city in whole South asia.still the cleanest one.but after the crisis 2022 .colombo fallen to second place from most developed rank😂.now first is mumbai.and hope colombo will get its place again ASAP.

Colombo I spent lots of time I went to school there too . Because I was not a discipline student have thrown out from so many schools my parents has beg school admission . My aunt was school teacher in Colombo. My mother asked me you want to go to aunt school . I said fine . I have to go with my aunt right after school finished I have to go with my aunt . After that I corrected myself

You need to venture out of Colombo to get a "real feel" pf Sri Lanka. Prices in the One Gall Face or the Colombo City Centre malls are super exuberant,, and does not reflect the average Sr Lankan's lifestyle/ consumer preferences. Your perspective of Sri Lanka will definitely change as you keep on exploring the REAL Sri Lanka.

Police & Army with weapons are in Colombo because of economic crisis in Sri Lanka. There is high chance of civil riots emerging from no where. So the military is there to curtail that. The cricket game was a complete lie.
