FILM DESCRIPTION:
Handsome swordsman Lancelot (Richard Gere) is incredibly skilled at fighting, but when he meets the lovely Guinevere (Julia Ormond), he can't seem to get past her defenses. She is betrothed to King Arthur (Sean Connery) and plans to go ahead with the wedding, despite her attraction to Lancelot. When the devious warrior Malagant (Ben Cross) rises up against Arthur, Lancelot must try to put his feelings aside and defend his king, Guinevere and all of Camelot.

1:30 Infantry has the lances for close combat and the cavalry uses the swords for charge. LOL. Besides that, the helmets are worse than a the helmets of a custom party.

True. Lances and spears are the primary weapons of a mounted knight.

yes, I agree. Arthur's men are more like 19th century cuirassers (the last preservation of ancient chivalry) than medieval knights or 5th century Briton/Roman warriors. then again considering most of their foes seem to have very light (brigandine is probably what they meant by all the studded leather) or no body armor, perhaps it wasn't needed. swords look cool and are probably easier to maneuver on screen. both sides have cavalry and I'm no military expert. they clearly have pikemen but we don't get to see them do much. at least they didn't have to go against firearms (just 19th century style pistol crossbows). still, epic scene from an entertaining movie based on a mythos I love!
