Here we go then folks, we've finally had some info on Football Manager 2025, a first look at the new user inferface, confirmation of new licences including the Premier League, the confirmed inclusion of womens football and some features that won't be making it into FM25 at all. It´s used when you scout players and want a specific player profile, e.g. I searched for Pressing forwards with certain % success rate of multiple defensive actions and added a threshold on minimal shots on target/90. It is skewed by the overall team performances / league quality though, just like real-life stats. It´s still good for new players not familiar with attributes and their synergy.

Chalkboard - go to player search > new search > add condition > select "stats chalkboard" It's basically a way of using more in depth data then just attributes on the player profile. You can select a Centre Back based on headers won rather than jumping reach

People need to learn to read big time. They literally state that the screenshots they sent are DESIGN FILES, i.e. concepts made by the game artists, and NOT the game build. Concepts are always supposed to look simple to communicate an idea from the artists to the developers. It does not necessarily mean that the actual game will look remotely close to these screenshots, but it does show a POSSIBLE direction of the new UI. Therefore, more data and features that have not yet been revealed yet are just not included in this screenshot release. SI are literally giving all the transparency they possibly can (without revealing too much in one go) and it is common knowledge that this game will never be as full or "finished" as future iterations.

While the uniform look across different platforms is good for accessibility, it means A LOT of wasted space and unoptimal solutions on PC.

In design uniform doesn't always mean exactly the same. For example most modern websites have a uniform design but they dynamically adjust based on the screen size. You still get the same core look and all the same functionality and data are on the screen no matter if you are using a 32inch 4k computer monitor or a 6inch phone but all that is arranged differently to give the best experience for the screen you are using

They say modern coaches are on mobiles.. Well yeah, so be it, but we want a good looking game with all the depth there is to it to play ON THE COMPUTER. Doesn't look good at all, but I hope I will be pleasantly surprised.

I think the point is that the touchline shouts are vague and not very realistic, cos they were originally meant to represent several minutes of shouting orders at players. I'm still not sure what 'fire up' actually translates to. I'd imagine they're intending to return them as full extensive dialogue options, but don't have time for that much writing and coding for such a small feature before fm25

UI looks pretty but I sense a future frustration having to click through multiple "cards" to do/see something that was all available on the one screen previously. I hope the skin creators (like SAS) are still able to use the old skins or at least mod the new one like we could the older UI.

So they removed a dozen features (some not important, others pretty major) and made a new UI so far. Really hope there’s a lot more to come, but I’m guessing this new engine is causing a lot of development strain for the first release.

I hope they refine the blocks a bit for a more refined feel. It needs a bit of flair. I like the jump points through if they can bundle up a lot of information in a tight way. Also hope they get rid of a lot of messages in fm as its a bit much.

The close door button in elevators _definitely_ does something. At least in all the elevators I've been in in Australia. The moment the button is pressed in, the doors start to close. Even if they've literally just opened. Can't speak to the shouts though. 🤷‍♀

Worse part about the close door button is that I've been in Elevators where they did work (they closed the door instantly upon press) So you get skinner-boxed into using it in every elevator because some of them do payout.

What I would really like is to be able to create a personality for my manager through interactions throughout the game. Me, as a manager in FM am very wooden, for example the responses and interactions with the media and players are all very generic. Let me create my personality, let me be a 'special one' and let it have an actual affect on how the media, players etc react and interact with me. I know you can respond in a somewhat "controversial" way but it doesn't really have an affect on the game. I do acknowledge it would require a pretty extensive AI within the game.

A well-produced, properly casted eSports scene for FM could be absolutely incredible. Theres definitely enough personality in the scene to support it, but it'll be tough to find a big audience.

If it was on a youtube format, it will do okay. If its livestreams of events, then the audience may be limited. Alot of fm players play casually due to life/work commitments and it may be difficult to watch at specific times

Unity as a game engine will be much easier to do that as it was originally an engine for mobile games that got adopted for PC and exploded.

No not wasn't. Unity existed before Smartphones were even a thing. It was designed as an engine for MacOS before examining to Windows not long after. It wasn't until near the end of Unity 2 that they added basic iOS support and then Unity 3 before it got fully baked support along with Android

I hope they will not keep this design, it looks like a soulless excel sheet again. Interface is the part of the immersion, it has to be nice, it has to have club colors so you really feel like you are managing that team and so on. FM 2017 colorful flat design was good to me. This look depressing.

I feel like if they bring the social media side of things back there needs to be some actual input into it. Like if you have a spare £2k as a non league team been able to do a social drive to bring in followers to grow your club would be such a great idea. Choosing to go abroad for your training camp as a championship team and spending £500k to grow your reputation that way. Currently the system is so slow at raising reputation that it does make it difficult to raise a team up from the bottom.

Need to know how the womens leagues will affect player databases. Would be great to build a full club (M/W/Y) but i cant envision a way to include them (in my 200k player saves) without damaging performance even more.

Maybe the simplified format will help with database size limitations, as there is less going on behind the scenes from a UI perspective?

It’s not a final version so we’ll see how it develops, but I don’t like the portal, particularly the awful text message style interface. I don’t really see what was wrong with an inbox.

I did! Down 50lb so far this year, maybe it’s finally showing in my face! Or maybe the beard trim and haircut did something…

@@lollujo Awesome. I subscribed to you like years ago but haven't seen your videos for couple of months or so, so I definitely noticed the change, it's visible on your face absolutely. I also managed to drop some weight. Need to continue. Happy you're doing well.
