Gas powered is, and will always be, the way. Nice video though.

Nice! Glad to see Echo's entry into electric backpack units. Surprised there isn't a hip throttle version. Hoping the technology will improve over time, right now runtimes just aren't there for larger jobs. I do like electric OPE for quieter operation - there's a two month symphony of BR-800 and PB-9010's here every year. My idea of the ideal blower at the moment is an Echo PB-9010 with Stihl's adjustable length tube. Echo power & reliability and Stihl ergonomics would be ideal.

Very good presentation and great questions. Not sure on this at the moment. I do use the a handheld 40v, different brand, but love it.

This is awesome, can’t wait to get my hands on it. I’ve been running the 56v system all season and love it but have been wishing a backpack blower was available.

I have the edger and battery trimmer from echo. Im planning on getting a hedge trimmer. I love the fact i can just pick up the tool and go. I probably wont get the blower, ill stick with gas.

I have a battery weed eater works fine and hedge trimmer works great, but when we are talking about blowers battery can’t compete with gas ! Gas is the best!!

I can’t tell, is the 8amp battery compatible with other 56v equipment like the handheld blower and commercial trimmer?

Yes. With the exception of the smaller chainsaws that I think only take a 2.5 ah battery.

Is there an option for the dual port rapid charger to be able to use 12v as a charging source?

In Canada these units sell for $550 as a bare tool. The only way id even consider buying it is if I bought 3 8ah batteries. But 3 batteries costing $1500, and a dual battery fast charger being $285. Youre already almost $2300 to blow some leaves around, and nowhere near as effective as an 8010 for about 1/3 of the cost. A tuneup every few years when they become hard to start, and probably put about $50 of fuel through mine per year doing full time commercial and residential leaf cleanups it would never actually save me money. Maybe after 10 years. The equipment needs to be better and it needs to be about half of its current cost to be feasible. Maybe in 5-10 years.

@@TheLawngineer half a pound heavier than the 5amp battery isn’t bad. I thought it was going to be 1-2 pounds heavier. Looking forward to the 8 amp battery.
