Here's a first hand look at the brand new Milwaukee M12 Mounting Fan, #0820-20. This fan delivers 18V air speed anywhere on the job site. It has several upgrades from the M18, which are pointed out in this video. Please let me know in the comments down below what you think about this fan. Would you choose the M12 or the M18?

I have 3 of the M18 fans. I stocked up back in 2017 before Hurricane Irma. I live in South Florida. Fans are a must down here, for hurricane prep and just in general due to the heat. I’m still going to buy the m12 fan because of the size and the fact it’s quieter.

I am an electrician working in the heat and humidity in Florida. It's hot this year. I bought one of these and it goes with me everywhere I go. I also bought 2 M12 6.0 amp hour batteries just for it. With the 2 fully charged batteries, the fan lasts the entire day. As long as I'm in the direct flow of air coming from the fan I'm cooled off a bit. My sweat evaporates much faster so my clothes don't become completely saturated with sweat. It's a really good product. Very light weight so it's easy to move around. If you're looking for something to keep you cool on a hot job site, this fan, and any of the fans like it will work okay. Obviously nothing is going to be able to cool you down like an AC or a cold shower, but this will keep you in the game for a little longer each day.

Great review. I switched to mostly M12 to try to lighten the load at work and haven’t been disappointed. This little fan is great. Misting and AC adapter for all fans would be nice but I know that when a bunch of tech gets crammed in that it usually shortens the lifespan.

I was thinking about my M18 fan that has an AC adapter and would estimate that I use the battery about 85% of the time. I only use the adapter when running it in the house overnight.

its nice to see a fan on the M12 platform. I have alot of milwaukee tools and other brands as well.. A few years ago I hought the Ridgid fan because it has a dial for the speed instead of 1,2 & 3. and it was more rpm's than the milwaukee. It also was a hybrid where you can use an extension cord instead of having to buy the mfg power cord. The ridgid can be dialed in for more precise control. This year they updated their fan to be more powerful than the old one.

Wow i should have picked this up yesterday along with the m18 fan I bought. I ended up going with the m18 since it has the ac feature. I guess I'll pick one up tomorrow. I can't believe all these milwaukee tools that I have been buying lately. The m18 fan yesterday at the m12 surge kit 3 days ago. My friends can't believe it also since I've always been a Dewalt guy in a milwaukee company. I so far replaced my 20v impact and hammer drill with m12 versions. I like the lighter weight. To think it all started with the nailers earlier this year.

@@MarkThomasBuilder yep I just seen the new impact the 3453! I'm tempted to get one and put it up against my 4 day old surge. I wonder if it means a new surge is coming out soon. Today I left my 9 year old 20v impact and went all day with just the surge. Both drilling and driving were all done with it which was bothersome having to change bits while installing hardware but sure beat carrying both a drill and driver. I really wish I could have recorded it to show just how capable the m12 surge is

@@MarkThomasBuilder I do believe it does require a municipal pressurized water source. A draw/siphon tube option would be ideal in addition to a garden hose connection, especially for remote sites. the m18 needs a serious upgrade that's long overdue. Milwaukee should consider a optional led light on a upgraded fan. I should've mentioned Milwaukee should add a USB charging port and there should've been a adapter port as well. I feel when upgrades are made there should be none taken away from previous models even though this is a 12 volt model

Not interested in a misting fan. Most of the places I’d use this are locations where I don’t want extra moisture on stuff.
