Fun fact : Jessi wrote the lyrics for cold blooded in just one day and the girls choreographed the song in one day . If I have one word to describe Jessi then that is LEGEND

cold blooded was actually produced for swf ( street woman fighter ) a show where dancers gather to compete and win. nct taeyong and boa were judges for this show !

Also on an interview with YGX on Jessi’s Showterview, Jessi said she initially didn’t want to be in the MV she wanted the spotlight to be fully on the dancers. BUT they insisted for her to be in the MV, so she agreed to join on the last minutes. What a QUEEN!! 👑

The other woman Jessi was with in Nunu Nana is Lee Hyori, a legendary solo artist in S.K! She's the only act in South Korea that has conquered charts every decade: 1990s (as a part of a girl group, FinKL), 2000-2010s (as a solo artist), and 2020(as a part of a project group, SSAK3). You should check out her stuff too! Fun fact! Lee Hyori, Jessi, Hwasa, and Uhm Junghwa (another iconic female artist in S.K) have a project group called Refund Sisters, and they've released a song called Don't Touch Me. Maybe you can react to this sometime as well!

Jessi has been in the industry for such a long time fighting to make the music she wants instead of just going along with what her company thinks will sell. She couldn't fake it, and it's caused her a lot of grief. The public has treated harshly in the past for not being the conventional idol, but she's never apologised for who she is. Psy really did the world a favour signing Jessi and letting her do what she wants. ps. any compilation of jessi shocking the hosts or guests in whatever show she's in is gold and instant seratonin

Happy that you brought up and noticed her beautiful raspy voice. Jessi actually started off her career as a singer, then later started focusing on doing more rap because it appealed more to the public. I guess everyone just couldn't get enough of her sassy and honest rap side and wanted more. I don't blame them tbh. Fun fact: The "Ho" in Cold-Blooded is a play on Jessi's Korean name, Ho Hyun Joo.

That's my baby!!!!! She's been in the industry for longer than 15 years and finally she's getting the recognition and love she deserves, she had to go through some bad bad times in Korea at the beginning bc of her personality and where she came from, also she struggled so much with the language. She's such an strong talented woman, I'm so glad people are appreciating her and her music.

Just to give you some info YGX is the group name of the backup dancers and SWF (Street Woman Fighter) Is a survival show which consists of proffesional female dancers where they have dance battles and stuff. That show is very famous around korea since its release this year and the dancers featured in the show also gained so much attention which they deserve it. I recommend you to watch it its soooo lit. Also i know youre a nctzen and I think the NCT member Taeyong is featured there as a judge.

SWF or Street Woman Fighter is a show in South Korea where groups of professional dancers battles against each other. Most of them works with kpop stars either by helping them choreograph their song or performing with them on live stages. This show helps them gain more attention and recognition they deserve!

Lee Hyori, the woman in the red bandana, is in Jessi's 'Nunu Nana' video. She is a FANTASTIC singer who debuted first in the girl group Fin.K.L in the late, before going solo. I think that you would love her music. She's pretty hilarious on the different variety shows that she's been on and has the lip like Jessi. lol

For the cold blooded MV Jessi said she didnt want to even appear in the MV and wanted the dancers to have the whole thing. In fact during that episode of the show you see they filmed this big scene that never made it into the MV so that’s probably what they had planned to do. Also, since she made this for the dancers and the show she actually made the song in 1 day.

OMG I LOVE HOW YOU'RE REALLY LOOKING AT THE UNDERRATED ONES!! Esp ones that also work on their own music!! Not that Jessi is underrated anymore but I'm happy for her fame and achievements considering how long she's been in the industry (she's literally 1st / 2nd gen kpop !!) AND SHE DESERVES EVERY BIT OF THE ATTENTION!! FYI, the "cold blooded ho" lyrics can actually be synonymous to "hoe" which we all know what it means but also "Ho" which is her surname and what they use as official lyrics.

I highly recommend watching her show where she interviews celebs, "Jessi Showterview", particularly the episodes with TXT and ATEEZ. She's so real and super funny but also such a sweetheart! You'll love her. She has chemistry with everybody and can make them all comfortable and having a good time.

They also had a supergroup made up of generational kpop bad girls called Refund Sisters with the song "Don't Touch Me." So it has Hwasa (20s, from Mamamoo), Jessi (30s), Lee Hyori (40s), and Uhm Jung-hwa (50s). HIGHLY recommend watching

So glad you’re listening and discovering Jessi. She my girl! I flove her! This is actually considered more K-hip hop. She’s under Psy P Nation (Gangnam Style). He sought her out cuz he wanted her to do her thing and have the freedom to do it. That’s why she did a shout out to Psy in Nuu Nuu Nana. She can talk her talk and look how she wants to. And she succeeds. She’s from New Jersey, so a Jersey girl, and when she went to S Korea, she was told to change to fit the industry. Talk about struggling to keep her identity and be true to herself. I’m so glad she found Psy and he supports her. I’m sure Jessi fans can fill you in more. She does write some of her stuff. Have fun.

I'm so hyped for this!! Jessi is such a good artist and so real. Her voice is one of the most unique tones in the industry. She's really a queen and has great personality. She's been in the industry for so long now and is finally getting her much deserved spotlight. Personally, i like her ballads the best especially when she performs them live 😫 and even her covers are amazing but she can definitely spit some good bars. YASSS jessi is without a doubt a QUEEN. SWF is a professional dancers show that had unimaginable success (it literally overshadowed every show this year) nct's taeyong was part of the jury for the show! i admit i saw that show because of taeyong (and chaeyeon because i'm nctzen n wizone) but i ended up in love with all the contestants, they were all so charismatic thank you for all the effort you put into this series, it was entertaining to see that you enjoyed the artists i listen to, make sure you rest, i know that this type of video requires a lot of work

The girls are from SWF (street woman fighter) show, and it's actually one of the crews choreo! They made it! It was one of their challenges to do a choreo for Jessi's song and each crew did one, the winner got to choreo the whole thing for the MV. If you have the time you should totally check out the show, it's amazing and the girls are TALENTED AF. Also, BoA and Taeyong are the judges!

actually a New Jersy girl, spent this year with family for Christmas in the States. She failed several attempts to make it in Korea, getting her break when she decided not to place it as a nice girl and gave attitude in her lyrics which was something new and was widely liked

I haven't watched yet but I'm so excited. I don't listen to Jessi a wholeee lot but I LOVE her entire existence lol. The thing with Jessi is no matter how confident and assertive she is, she doesn't seem arrogant. She can tell off the haters and simultaneously instill a feeling of power and confidence to the listener through her music. I think it also helps that she seems genuinely sweet and caring when she interacts with other people. She really had to pave her own way in Korea in an industry that is so judgmental and hush hush and it's FINALLY paying off for her. I love that she has a bigger platform now and I love watching other idols/celebs interact with her because once they get over the initial culture shock, they tend to let their guards down and be more authentic too.
