shine was a game changer for kpop and boy groups doing bright concepts. till then, most bg songs with cute concepts were mostly aegyo based and that was it but pentagon really showed how to act cute and silly while enjoying it!!!!! it feels very natural to them and you can't help but feel excited and happy together. you should check out their stages, my favorite is the show champion one where hui (the main vocal that you like) ends up eating confetti in the middle of the stage and they all start laughing their ass off 😁☺️

Pentagon omg! They're like one of the most multi-talented self-producing groups in the kpop market rn and they make actual good music and has great vocalists, dancers, choreographers, rappers, lyricists, composers, painters, actors, actual fashion week models, professional vocal instructor who trained some cube artists like (G)-Idle, Yoo Seonho and the trainees. These guys are also so creative and funny onstage and much more offstage. Their lyrics are so witty, goofy, fun and when it's a ballad (or some of their bright sounding song but actually sad lyrics) it's like they wrote it in memory of their significant other they had divorced with and d worded to make it worse, it's so painful. Fun Facts: Pentagon is one of those groups with a lot TALL member, The tallest is Wooseok is the main rapper and is 6'3 tall then we got YanAn one of the vocalist is 6'2 tall and then Yuto another rapper is 6'1 tall along side with Shinwon that is another vocalist that is also 6'1 tall. so as you can see, Universe (pentagon fandom) have inside jokes around their heights.

*i'm a casual listener of pentagon and i must say that daisy is one of the best songs in kpop ever created, especially the music video. i got emotional when they won because of it and i am not even their fan lmao.*

Shine is probably their most popular song and is called a "sleeper Hit" bc it gained attention only after the promotions ended. It is also actually the non big4 artists song with the most views !! (240M views on 1The K). But they got their first win only with Daisy (4yrs into their career..) after participating in Road to Kingdom... The whole year of 2020 was actually very emotional bc the small main vocalist Jinho had to enlist before getting their first win. So the group and fans (universe) were anxious of a possible disbandment (bc cube is a shit company).

Although ptg is overall pretty underrated with the general public, they’re very notorious for their powerful vocal. Jinho is actually a vocal coach and he trains cube’s trainee. 3 of them are also main actors in musicals. And they’re super respected in the industry (fellow idols, actors, producers and dancers alike). Many comments already mentioned that they’re producers as well (and not just 1 of them, there are 3 main producers and the rest also produce but their songs are less often in the albums) but they often produce for other groups and shows like the produce series, ace, cix, shinhwa and more! Kino and yuto actually have their own soundcloud too

Jino, the one who was wearing the cape in Shine, was an SM trainee. He debuted in SM the Ballad (the song called "hot times") with Shine's Jonghyun, Suju's Kyuhyun, and another from trax (SM's band). I remember when EXO debuted, I was looking for "that trainee in SM the Ballad". I even thought Suho was Jino at first. But sadly, Jino can't make it into EXO. I read somewhere because his image overlapped with DO's (I don't know if it's true though), so he was dropped from EXO's lineup. So he exited from SM and was a vocal trainer before joining Cube and making his debut with Pentagon.

i strongly believe that hui and jinho are two of the best vocalists in kpop and it is not talked about enough! pentagon are so insanely talented and will always pull off a cute concept well. i highly recommend you also check out more of their older music ESPECIALLY naughty boy and like this because those are two of my absolute favorites from them. OKAY pentagon!! this is one of my precious gems. The guy singing his butt off lmao is HUI. Jinho and Hui their amazing main vocalists have some of my favorite voices in the entire universe, truly recommend everyone to watch their covers they post on youtube (jinho magazine) jinho is a vocal coach and hui is a producer/composer. (jinho quite recently completed military, thats why he wasn't in daisy and do or not. feelin like was his first cb after - and hui is there now thats why he wasn't in feelin like, he will soon come back from the military tho!!!) Kino is their main dancer, he does amazing choreography. Yuto!! he's the first japanese rapper in k-pop which is so cool! he's also good friends with our boy Yuta!! pentagon write and produce their own songs and wooseok their maknae is great at that.

"Shine" became such an iconic song for k-pop! Like every k-poper know that song and has danced to it. And like other people said: you recognize Dawn because he is Hyuna's fiancé and he is a solo artist under P Nation. When their relationship was revealed, Cube kicked them out. It's so funny to watch Triple H stuff now (a trip of Hyuna, Dawn and Hui, both from Pentagon) and see how Hui was trying to keep it cool while knowing that they have been together for two years already in that time hahahaha

Shine was the first song I ever heard from Pentagon and I was sold. Definitely an under rated group. Always look forward to their comebacks. Super talented, love them.

Easily one of the most underrated K-pop groups I’m so glad your checking them out

A couple of things! First of all, they do write and compose their own songs! They started doing so after their comeback with Like This. The main producers of the group are Hui (guy with the vocals you loved), Wooseok (really tall rapper guy) and Kino (dancer you really liked). What you mentioned about the "energy" they give is 100% true. I started stanning them after I watched their dance practice for shine, just because the energy they gave was unreal. I also think they do bright concepts like no other boy group in kpop, it is so refreshing! They have a couple other cute songs, all of them are a 10/10 for me. Some of the members that went missing are because of military service! Currently, two members are enlisted (Hui and Hongseok) and one member already finished his military service (Jinho), but was absent during Daisy and DO or NOT. Daisy is one of my favorite kpop songs, it has so much soul behind it. I am glad you liked it ❤️
