STAN Onnex Clicker: bit.ly/3N2XZAI
The STAN Onnex Clicker is the first thumb button release with a click. Built on the popular Onnex handle, the Clicker functions as a thumb trigger, with a built in click for reference during the shot process. The click helps the archer gauge trigger pressure before firing the arrow. The trigger tension and travel are adjustable. The distance from the click to fire is not.

Yeah, I need one. It’s basically a Scott Pursuit with a click. Just wish it had a wrist strap.

I find the Truball HT hybrid and HBC Flex in medium good in my hand along with the usual Carter Target 3 but the Scott Ascent in medium feels small. Anybody with any idea what size Stan would be good for me? Thanks in advance.

I personally dont like the clicks. But it is a unique concept. Just not for me because I prefer no clicks. I just pull thru and keep aiming.

Definitely need to add a strap like Stan just put on the Axis, or somehow have as an option..! Also a newly designed thumb button shape would be a great to have as an extra/3rd option. 🤞🤞🙏

Feels like a solution in search of a problem... You should treat putting your thumb on the trigger as your "click". The moment you rest your thumb on there, it's inherently hot and ready to fire. The amount of pressure to put on the trigger should come to you naturally over time as you practice. I'm willing to try it to see if it works for me - but 100% will not buy one for myself.

Shouldn't be preesing/pulling the trigger barrel anyway. Release should be set up so that as you are expanding, your thumb is sliding past the barrel and brushes against it to activate. Was taught this by Terry Wunderle nearly a decade ago.

There are many ways to skin a cat. And no right or wrong way to be honest. What matters is consistency and doing whatever you do the exact same way each and every time.

Not sure as a hunter if i like the "click" sound before firing. Deer would hear it too. Potentially they could move before arrow arrives and thus making it a bad shot all cuz the deer heard that click too

I've hunted with a hinge for years, never had a deer react to the click in those. That was a big fear I had prior to using it, but deer have never really paid attention to it. I did have one spot me at 20 yards right about the time it clicked, but she was also walking straight to me and probably noticed a big blob next to the bush too so that one may have been the click, may have been her seeing my silhouette.

PJ, If you remember years ago Spott Hogg had a release called the Cascade 10 which had a click and you could still let down as long as you kept the thumb depressor pressed down, but if not, you would relax to fire the shot. So Stan is not the first with a clicker, but as one that fires by continuing to press the trigger. I wish Spott Hogg would reintroduce the Cascade 10

"Mentally it makes you calmer" meanwhile, 80% of archers struggle with target panic without a click to remind them lol.

If you haven’t tried any release at all yet, see if you can borrow or try out a few before you buy one yourself. I got my hands on a truball goat just for the option to switch between thumb and hinge in about 30 sec. There isn’t just one releaser that’s the best one for beginners unfortunately..

Look up bows only outdoor channel and watch learn archery lesson. Uses an Stan onnex resistance release. I did the program (took about 2-3 weeks) and I shoot tighter and more consistent then my friends that have been shooting for years

I have a SX-3 & a Perfex. The SX-3 in a Medium that feels excellent but the Perfex in a Large does not feel larger & the weight is too light. Is the Onnex in a 3 finger model similar to the SX-3 in FEEL or more like a different version of the Perfex?
@Rikcey

@@josephtreadlightly5686 I always thought the SX-3 is sized like the Shootoff. I have the latter in a medium, and a medium Onnex Resistance. I am happy I didn't replace it with the Onnex thumb already. Never held a Perfex though. Back in the day, when I bought the Shootoff they came out with the Shootoff TL a few days later. I was pissed..

@@Rikcey Yeah, I would be too. I wanted a backup release which is why I bought the Black Longneck Perfex. I liked the jaws but found something better like a rubber piece that mounts onto the bottom of a thumb release to hold it onto the string. It was a great invention by an Italian company. I just never use that Perfex cuz it doesn't have that pinkie shelf like the SX-3. I fire the SX-3 with my pinkie. My thumb is just in my palm & does nothing. Very repeatable & a complete surprise everytime.
