Just a quick clip taking the Moto Guzzi Griso (motoguzzi) for a quick spin. This isn't a comprehensive ride/review of the moto, but I'll share my initial thoughts and impressions of my first experience with an Italian motorcycle. Spoiler alert! I'm a huge fan of the Zard exhaust and sound of the bike! Music to my ears!

If it's not chinese and doesn't have high mileage I'd say go for it, with how simple the mechanics are on that thing and the fact it was 2 old people with a set theyve probably been sitting and the carbs need a good cleaning. If it fires I'd say 450 isnt a terrible price but if it doesn't start I wouldn't go over 250-300 maybe

I think you should expand garage to include scooters but that one looked to be in pretty rough shape. I recommend staying far away from Chinese brands. For more reliability and resale value stick with brands like Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kymco, Genuine, Vespa, Aprilia and BMW.

I've had several guzzi's the 2007 griso 1100 was the best handling, most awesome fun to ride. Every earlier guzzi has individual quirks, but the griso was beautifully crafted and balanced. So many people would stop and wonder what the heck it was, and still looked contempoary styled in 2022. It didn't out preform current class similar bikes but certainly still outhandled many of them. I lost it in the 2022 flooding a couple of months back, and with so few sold in Australia is hard to replace....for my part, preference is with the 1100 over the 1200, the pushed motor sound and feels like a guzzi should. ........Also, great to hear the poor pronunciation of Guzzi and Griso is not limited to lazy Aussies. Thanks for a very good open minded chat about the griso

Got a 07 dyna and 17 griso. The griso handles amazing around the corners and is super reliable. It's a stock 11 sec quarter mile bike and with a tune, air filter change and good 2n1 exhaust you can hit low 10s and 0-60 in 2.5 secs. Dry clutches are the way to go compared to a wet clutch. Reason why is 0 slippage. Also the shaft drive has a torsion bar to keep that rear end planted at all times and will pull a 1,2, and 3rd gear wheelie if you want to. The griso has fully adjustable suspension with brembo brakes. I ride my griso more than my Harley.

Moto Guzzi makes some really kick ass motorcycles. Engines sound like a small block Chevy, pretty much a no maintenance shaft drive, and a dry clutch like on a car. That’s why there’s that chattering sound….remember, “itsa notta noise, itsa sound!” :P

Nah the 4 valve 1100 the best ;) Awesome bikes Add a Beetle map , set the sag and probably at those miles a rebuilt or new rear shock. The front shocks are good. Rear were a bit underwhelming from factory due to settings for lighter weight riders. Most upgrade rear shocks. Bullet proof, over engineered engines. Those Pro Taper bars way better than original touring bars.

The Griso has been discontinued and they are over $12K MSRP! $3,500 is a great price IMO. Sure, it's over 10 years old with 20,000+ miles but Moto Guzzi's are good for a LOT of miles. Rev that Griso out a bit closer to redline and you will find the rest of the horsepower. I have Harley mufflers on my old '76 Guzzi i convert and it totally changes the sound and personality of these bikes. Yeah, a good price. Those bikes are built to last.

I bought a 2014 California Custom new, sold it in 18, I’ve regretted it ever since. it was a super fast cruiser that loved being reved out. After a 2017 KTM 1190 Adventure (sold) and 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite (sold today) and now bikeless.............I’m torn between a 2021 Kawasaki Z900rs retro..........and a brand new still in crate 2017 Griso 1200SE. Both a beautiful, but the Griso is also a work of art. The Kawa will be least work to maintain with lots of fun and it’s what my brain says to buy, but my heart says the other. Oh well I have the winter to contemplate.

I've been told that Guzzi's can get weird with aggressive leaning and cornering, I think it just takes getting used to them, but my father had a few over time, and he explained that the weight being higher up with a full tank of gas, and the direction of spin on the crankshaft made it feel different leaning into a right or left, I personally have never experienced it, but I trust his knowledge.

That's the tame 4 valve 1100 cc model, hence the lack of frantic 1200cc 8 valve Griso horsepower (110) like mine :) The 1100 4 valve is a great motor, no issues unlike the pre 2014 Griso 8 valve motors which had flat tappet problems. Mine is a 2008 and needed the flat tappets replaced for roller tappets. Plus that 1100 Griso will last forever!

I've just had bad experiences with chinese stuff, my buddy picked up a brand new chinese quad for like 1500 thinking it would be better than a ten year old Japanese competitor. Within a week it had a new chain on it, within two weeks the front tie rods were completely bent out of place so the alignment would just randomly yank to the right, the rear shock bent. And within the first month I had to completely redo the wiring harness bc it just decided it was dead one day out at canyon lake. Needless to say it's currently sitting in garage with a nail in the tire and were in no hurry to get it out
